    Super Bowl IL

    Indianapolis 10 vs Carolina 20

    About the game:
Second time in three season these two will meet, last time the only TD of the game came with in the first couple of minutes on a pass to Steve Smith as Carolina beat the Indianapolis Colts 16-3.

This year Carolina comes in much like they did two years ago, feeling confident with a defense that shut out their opponent in the NFC Championship.

Indianapolis is coming into the Super Bowl after beating the Patriots by a last second field goal claiing their third straight AFC title. However for the Colts those AFC titles have turned into two consectutive Super Bowl loses.

Early lines have the Panthers favored +3.5.

I'll take the Panthers 21-10. Their defense stops the Manning attack.

The Colts struck first taking up half the first quarter to score on a Manning to Clark TD pass. Carolina responded by taking up the other half of the quarter and driving to Indianapolis’ 2 yardline as the first quarter expired. Unfortunately the walk from one end of the field to the other must have been to much for the old men on the Panthers O-line because they failed to punch it in, and settled for a field goal, Indianapolis 7, Carolina 3.

Carolina would stuff the Colts, get the ball and hit Steve Smith for a touchdown, down the sidelines after the defender missed judged going for the pick. Carolina 10, Indianapolis 7. 2 plays into the Colts ensuing drive Manning would throw pick six to OLB Kassem putting Carolina up 17-7. Carolina would add a field goal as time expired and walk into halftime pretty confident with a 20-7 lead, plus get the ball to start off the half.

First offensive play after halftime the Colts came out fired up and sacked Dane Morrow, causing a fumble and setting the Colts up in the Panthers redzone. Carolina would hang tough and hold Manning and the Colts to a field goal, Carolina 20, Indianapolis 10.

Third quarter would play out as two bad ass defenses pounded on their poor offensive counterparts, the Colts however would be the first to snap out of it and lead drive down the field has time expire in the third.

Indianapolis would get down to the Panthers 1 yardline with 8 minutes left when the unthinkable happened. The Colts would hand off on a HB dive play only to have the SS Atkinson shoot the gap and hit Brown inches away from the goaline, Brown fumbled, the ball bounced into the endzone, then off a Colts O-lineman’s back, going back out of the endzone where Panther OLB Kassem was there to pounce on it at the 1 yardline.

After a few tense moments Williams and the Panthers where able to get pond a couple first downs out, and narrowly miss getting a third to give the Panthers some breathing room to punt the ball away with 5 minutes left.

Manning would take the Colts back into Panther territory, but would throw his second pick of the game sealing Carolina’s second Super Bowl win in 3 years.
