Suprise player this season? Biggest dissapointment?

The best player on our team has been OLB Dravannti Johnson he has been all over the gridiron for us.

The worst player this season has been QB Garrett Gilbert and its by a long shot, he has killed us with fumbles and just lousy overall play...he has sucked.

Surprise player has been Russell Shepard. I didn't think he would be as valuable going into the season but he can do it all.

Most disappointing would have to be the RB's on our squad. Or maybe the O-line. No help there.

Suprise Player for the Hawks is Adam Robinson. Coming into camp we saw him having a 800-900 yard year........after 5 games he has almost 700 yards and 13 TD's.

Big disappointment for the Hawks is FS Brent Greenwood. A preseason all conference pick and I think he has 5 tackles all year...

My biggest surprise so far this season is Wide Receiver FR (RS) L Damian Washington.. He has 17 receptions on 20 attempts in his directions, for 265 yards and 2 TDs in 3 games..

Biggest disappointment has been Blaine Gabbert... 37/73, 526 yards, 7 TDs, 5 INT.. I am prolly rushing some passes before making reads to find the best coverage matchup, but passing in this game seems far tougher than last year

Surprise player has been Mike Gillislee RB he has gotten some tough ass yards and made some nasty runs.

Duck (what we call shitty players at the school i coach at) - Janoris Jenkins I mean he's AA caliber and has been beaten constantly. He's not a bonafide duck but man I need him to be a shut down guy.

Just my opinion, but QB accuracy may be too low. We're at 50 in CoC and QBs are still throwing picks. I have thrown 14 with Jacory Harris through 11 games which feels about right. If I make a bad read, it gets picked and there are still a few errant throws. I find myself waiting for guys to get wide open here because I never really feel like I know where the throws are gonna go and I never feel comfortable throwing the ball before or as a receiver is making a break. I'm by no means saying that I'm throwing picks solely because of the slider, but I'm finding it a bit much. I'm also sending this from work and don't know off the top of my head what Forcier's accuracy rating is, so that could be it too. It was just something I've been feeling playing and if Hack is having trouble with Gabbert, who I would think would be one of the more accurate quarterbacks, I just thought I would bring it up for discussion.

Obviously, my most disappointing player is Tate Forcier, just had his first game without a pick against Indiana. (y)

Biggest surprise, would be Vincent Smith, I guess. Coming into the season, I thought he was going to be good, but we are really relying on him because of the struggling passing game.

I agree that its almost intimidating to throw the ball at times.. I do have User and CPU QB acc way down at 30.. Maybe Ill give it a bump up to 40.. and cpu pass defense down to 60.. Thoughts?

I think we should just leave it where it is at.

    Surprise

DE Nathan Williams - 13 tackles, 8 for loss, 1 FF and 1 Sack. He is having a much better season than his opposite, Heyward.

    Disappointment

WR Devier Posey - Only 9 catches with 6 drops. He was supposed to be one of the best wr's in the conference. He really hasn't been much of a factor in any of my 5 games this season.

Biggest surprise?? I have one on offense and defense. On offense, Terrance Ganaway. He has surprised myself, and a few of my opponents. He went for huge runs against both Kentucky and Iowa. And on defense, it would have to be Gary Mason. He has been a shining light at defensive end. Leading the team in sacks, and coming up with big plays at opportune times. His play has kept me in games.

Disappointment? I have many. A major one is Griffin. I know he is coming off of a major injury, but I believe Ricky Stanzi has more rushing yards than my dual threat QB.

Surprise: I don't know, whole team really. Ill go with DeQuin Evans, to date, 19 tackles, 17 solo, 10 TFL and 7 sacks.

Disappointment: The rushing game, we are God awful. Starting HB has a 2.2 avg, so we gotta figure that out!

Surprise: The defense as a whole! Didn't think we could play as well as we have with the loss of so many starters from a year ago!

Disappointment: I would have to say the passing game! Mainly my fault though, LOL!

After the last two games of watching my qb sail the ball past open receivers straight to the hands of defenders i am totally with you. Is that the reason I lost the two games, no but it was frustrating as hell.

Here are QB completion statistics from 2009 compared to SH.

YEAR NAME COMPLETIONS ATTEMPTS % TD INT
    2009 Terrelle Pryor 167 295 57% 18 11
    2010 SH Terrelle Pryor 43 86 50% 5 2
    2009 Tate Forcier 165 281 59% 13 10
    2010 SH Tate Forcier 49 107 45% 6 6
    2009 Blaine Gabbert 262 445 59% 24 9
    2010 SH Blaine Gabbert 37 73 51% 5 7
    2009 Ricky Stanzi 171 304 56% 17 15
    2010 SH Ricky Stanzi 43 73 59% 1 1
    2009 John Brantley 36 48 75% 7 0
    2010 SH John Brantley 50 100 50% 3 10

So we could boost QB accuracy a few if we want to be consistent with realism.

And you could honestly compare Griffin's 2008 numbers. I believe he was like 61% or something as a true freshman.

I bumped QB acc for Humas and CPU up to 40.. and dropped CPU Pass defense down to 60.. Lets get a few weeks of data compiled and re-compare to see if we have a closer matchup..

I have noticed that you have to make smarter decisions before you pass in this game compared to last years, ie finding the single coverage and not trying to throw under heavy pressure..

Heavy pressure is causing a lot of mistakes this year, as it should.
