Lets take a look at the AFC & NFC standings before we get crackin.... Alright now get your audio going for full effect Wow, we're finally in the home stretch. This is what we all play for. A shot at the Lombardi. There will be joy and tears, triumph and defeat... your sweatpants and your couch or the frosty tundra at Lambeau.... you decide in these last few weeks gentleman. May the best team win. Swami's Final AFC Picks Bills already have the East and #1 seed sealed. The Patriots are guaranteed a spot with a win over the Bills in week 17. A 10 win Patriot team should still be guaranteed the top wildcard spot. Steelers take the North and even with a loss are safe to take the division. Tiebreaks with Denver will determine if they take the #2 seed should they lose week 17 and Denver wins. In the West, Oakland and Denver play in Week 17. Oakland needs a W certainly as Denver beat them in Week 10. I dont think 9 wins would get Oakland into the playoffs. A 10 win Denver team however, should they lose, would go to tiebreaks for the division, and Oakland would have a better Division record so they should take it. Denver's wildcard chances would go to tiebreaks against Indy or Jacksonville In the South, Jacksonville will likely take the division yet Indy should beat Tennessee leaving a 10 win Indy team to go to tiebreaks in the Wildcard. AFC Swami Sez Predicted Seeding #1 Buffalo #2 Pittsburgh #3 Denver #4 Jacksonville #5 New England #6 Indianapolis Swami's Final NFC Picks Dallas takes the East but their 1st round bye may be up for grabs should they lose. I dont believe the Redskins to be alive much even if they won out to get to 9-7. In the North, the race for the division is hot. They split their series and they have identical 4-1 division records. It will likely go to common games record, whatever that ends up being will decide the division if they tie since the Vikings have a better conference record currently but should the Lions beat the Packers in week17 they would be identical. Ugh, complicated. Down South, the Falcons have a stranglehold with the Saints cruising coach-less. The Saints should be in the driver seat for a wildcard though if they somehow win 1 of their last 2 games. Out West, Seattle plays Arizona in week 16 in a massive game. If Seattle finds a way to win, they own the tiebreak over Arizona due to H2H record and they would have identical records heading into Week 17. The loser of this race may be on the outside looking in as a 9 win team will be tough to sneak into the wildcard. NFC Swami Sez Predicted Seeding #1 Dallas #2 Detroit #3 Atlanta #4 Arizona #5 Minnesota #6 New Orleans Potent Potables Tony Romo for MVP leading the league in passing and passing TD's. Most of the top RB's are bunched up around 1500-1200 yards. Best RB will probably go to Zac Stacy with 1342 yards and a whopping 18 rushing TDs. Alfred Morris should finish second with 1450 yards and 14 TDs. AJ Green has surged up the WR statsheet leading the leage in receptions and yards and is 1 TD behind Andre Johnson with his 14 TD receptions. Green takes the top WR award with Julio Jones just behind him. The defensive sack race is interesting, with the expected winner taking DPoY. 3 guys are tied with 19 sacks and I see JPP as the favorite with more tackles or Melton with more tackles and a couple forced fumbles. Unless Dareus puts up a 3 sack game I think it goes to one of those two guys. There are also 3 players with 18 sacks. For team stats, the Cowboys lead total offense and passing ypg not surprisingly. Tony Romo obviously has a great deal to do with that. The Viking lead in rushing ypg by a decent margin. The Bills unsurprisingly lead all defensive categories. Their weak schedule the biggest boon here, giving up just 175ypg and only 142 points against, however their defense was exposed just this week against a strong Oakland team. The rookie of the year could go any direction. Bortles, DeAnthony Thomas, Devonta Freeman, Jadeveon Clowney and Lamarcus Joyner all should be in the mix.
