The latest SP prospect to blossum in the Detroit farm is Alberto Tapia. Tapia was signed out of the Dominican Republican for a low $270,000 back in 2041. When signed, his 55/55/55 was nothing exceptional. Three years later in the early Spring his potentials took off. At the same time he added the knuckle-curve which is now developed all the way to 55/80. He lacks serious control though.

He will walk many but will anyone actual be able to hit the ball off him? Time will tell.....

Overview: One month into his first season in Lakeland (A) Tapia has started 4 games. Two starts he did not allowed a run and the other two he allowed 4 earned runs leaving mid-way through each the game. His last start he only allowed one hit through 4.1 innings, striking out 8 and allowing 5 walks.
Development: His Knuckle Curve has developed from 55/80 to 60/80 over the past month.

We're hopeful it can at least bounce back to 50. With that stuff/pitch quality/velocity we only need a solid catcher to ensure he doesn't knock anybody's head off. I remember Raj had a similar pitcher 20 some seasons ago that was very successful with similar attributes.

Yeah, there's been a few guys like him who have had success. I remember Guan having ratings like that and having good success for me with the Cubs, and there's been a couple other really nice ones like the guy in Oakland right now.

Overview: Tapia went down in his third start of May with a ruptured tendon in his finger (thanks ty5oke. you also killed Bowen for 12-13 months ). The young man has such great movement with his arsenal of pitches and simply released the ball wrong. The setback will cost him likely this entire season with still 3 months to his injury.

Development: Tapia added 5 to his curveball since last month. Management is hoping he continues to develop even while on the DL.

September, 11, 2047 l Tapia made his return to the rotation last sim. He was roughed up and never made it past the 3rd inning. While he was on the DL his control also fell to a 40 potential. If he can not make any gains here soon he might be a lost cause. Why the game develops someone like this is beyond me.

You see guys like that in baseball. Ton of stuff, ton of movement on their pitches, but they have no clue where it's going.

    There's more...

Last sim of the season he takes out my best hitter.... Then he injures my second best hitter in game 1. On top of that, he somehow beats up on two of the best pitchers in the AL who lost a combined 5 games in 62 starts.:mad::mad::mad:

At least he didn't take out 3/4ths of your rotation that had a chance to be one of the best ever.
