The Philadelphia Eagles have found their franchise quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. In what some considered a bold move, the Eagles traded away Michael Vick to the Cleveland Browns and bet the bank on the young gun slinger Tannehill acquired from the Miami Dolphins. Today he showed again why the Eagles have a chance to cash in and make good on that bet.

    Quarter 1:

This game opened with both teams struggling on offense. The Eagles could not get anything productive going and every Cowboy possession would seem to stall out. We saw a defensive battle in this quarter as neither team would put up any points. 0-0 tie after 1.

    Quarter 2:

We would finally get some action here in the 2nd and it would open up by way of the Dallas Cowboys.
The backfield of the Cowboys would lead their offense down the field (as would be the theme all day long), setting up a 4 yard TD pass from Tony Romo to tight end Jason Witten. The 'Boys would jump out to a 7-0 lead within the first minute of the 2nd quarter. After a couple change of possessions and a punt that went off the side of Cowboys punter Donnie Jones, the Eagles found themselves in business with great field position at the Dallas 48. From there it would only take 1 play for the Eagle offense to finally get going as Lesean McCoy would take a screen pass 48 yards to the house. The Cowboys were threatening late at the end of the half, as they had the ball inside the Eagles 5 with 30 ticks left on the clock and all timeouts. However; a la Les Miles, the Cowboys would have a huge time management goof and allow the clock to get all the way down to 8 seconds after their next play from scrimmage. One play later, and after an Eagles run stop, the Cowboys would use their second timeout of the half with only 3 seconds left. This forced them to bring out the field goal units and settle for an easy three. 10-7 Cowboys after two.

    Quarter 3:

Philly would open this half very quickly and Ryan Tannehill finally came to life. On their opening possession and on a 3rd and long, Tannehill would find Jeremy Maclin for an 81 yard TD strike to put the Eagles up 14-10. After that it would be a back and forth defensive battle until late in the quarter when Tannehill again hooked up with Maclin. This time on a nice slant from 6 yards out which gave the Eagles a little cushion, 21-10. However; on Dallas' opening play of the following possession, Romo would find Miles Austin on a nice comeback route and after making some nifty moves Austin would find himself 85 yards down the field and in the endzone. That ended the 3rd, 21-17 Eagles.

    Quarter 4:

Tannehill would lead his offense down the field in the middle of this quarter, in which would turn out to be the back breaker for the Cowboys. He capped off the drive by finding, you guessed it, Jeremy Maclin in the end zone once again. The Cowboys would fight til the end and try to make a late push, but newly acquired DB Jerraud Powers would intercept Romo and put the nail in the coffin. The Eagles won this one by a final of 31-17.

    Players of the Game:

    PHI QB - Ryan Tannehill ... 15 for 19, 330 Yards, 4 TD's, 0 turnovers, QBR = 158.3
    PHI WR - Jeremy Maclin ... 6 Catches, 165 Yards, 3 TD's

    Dallas WR - Miles Austin ... 4 Catches, 142 Yards, 1 TD

    Stats of the Game:

    PHI - 7 of 10 on 3rd down conversions (70%)
Dallas - Only allowed 21 yards on the ground
