HAL9100 Just have two questions. 1) Is it going to be 4 games a week at our our pace within a one week span? (can play 4 games at once if desired, or spread out whenever convenient throughout the week) 2) Do you know the settings we're going to roll with? GP off/on, Hot/Strike Zone? I want to get some games in with the settings we're going to be running with. Thanks.
1. After looking at the settings available, I'll have to tweak what I said a little bit in terms of the time frame(still determining the best setting to go with), but yes. The schedule will be completely open. You could play 4 games in 1 night or you can spread it out over the week. If you have time and want to, then you can play more games than just the 4. If the games at the front of the schedule don't get played though, then they'll get simmed. So those should take precedence over future games....if that makes sense. 2. All Star pitching, All Star Hitting, Zone hitting, Pulse pitching, user choice for Throwing, Guess Pitch off, Strike Zone off, I think I have hot zone as fade but it may be off, Balks on, and then there's slider changes but I don't have those memorized. It won't be anything too dramatic off of the All Star settings. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
Cool, thanks! Settings look great, although it looks like I have to get used to pulse pitching, I haven't used that before. Anyone have any experience with pulse pitching? Is it hard?
Depends on who u ask lol. Inside joke but if u want both ends of spectrum, myself and uagrad90, aka Guy can give u insight.
Does anyone else notice when pitching that your pitches appear to come in much slower than when you are batting? It seems my mid 90's fastballs look more like change ups. On the other hand, when I bat the ball seems to come in at the normal speed that I have grown accustomed to. I prefer the faster speeds to hit anyway since my timing is used to it…but I'm not sure if it's just me or if it just happens to be on end. I also notice I can't put a fastball by anyone, which makes me believe the pitchers are actually coming in slower. Anyone else notice the pitchers fatigue glitch? Starting pitches are completely fatigued by the 2nd/3rd inning after 20-30 pitches. It's pretty weird.
I don't like it. Even when I time it correctly and hit the tiny locating window, the ball still ends up well off the mark. I guess it will make it easier to hit though...
Ok, so the plan is to get the league created tonight at which point I'll start sending out invites. Then I'll give it roughly 24 hours and activate the league tomorrow night. Just in case anyone's PSN changed from ps3 to ps4, I need everyone to post their PSN. I also need to get teams from controllerabuser and capp34 so I can figure out what team to give myself. We will be playing a 29 game schedule made up of 9 3-game series and 1 2-game series. Based on the settings available to me, I will instead be setting it up to sim a series after 6 days. So if you don't play or don't complete your earliest series available to you, then those games will be simmed. The rest of the season will be open to be played though if you'd like to get a head start or play more games, but that earliest series must be played in order to keep up pace. I initially said that the expectation would be 4 games played per week. The expectation now is to play 3 games every 6 days. Fortunately those 3 games will always be against the same person, so 6 days may even be overkill. From my test, only 2 teams will have a series during the first sim time frame, so use the first 6 days to get a head start on your games. Any questions? Personally, I switch to broadcast view when pitching so I haven't noticed anything like that. Are you talking about the meter under each pitch? If so, that's a confidence meter. If you continually throw a pitch for a ball or if a pitch keeps getting hit by the offense, then the pitcher will lose confidence in the pitch and make it tougher to throw that pitch.
No, not at all. I know what the confidence meter does, which is similar to the meters for each individual pitch. I'm talking about the energy meter. It actually flashes that the pitcher is fatigued or out of energy at the top of the screen as well. We're talking 0-0 games in the 3rd inning and the guys energy is randomly in the tank. I've seen it in 2 of my 5 games played online so far. The good news, I hear this is just an online rated game issue and may be isolated to just that online play. It may not affect leagues in the least.
OK, I thought I was losing my mind. Are you able to put a mid-90's fastball past anyone? (excluding people who clearly have no idea how to hit)
I'll have to monitor this a little more the next time I play. Occasionally, depends where you put it.
