The first business trip of the season for the Tennessee Volunteers turns out quite well for the big orange as they beat Boise St. 23-14. New head coach ctvolfan was not sure what to expect with his ball club but was sure pleased with the hard work and effort they showed.

Tennessee QB Antonio Baker tossed what seemed like a momentum shitting INT on the second possession of the game. But the defense stepped up and forced the Boise ball carrier to fumble the ball away. Tennessee proceeded to drive down and score a field goal to take a 3-0 lead. Boise then with a huge carry from its talented and speedy back that covered 74 yards in a flash. Giving Boise a 7-3 lead.

After two touchdown passes from Baker to WR Tyler Johnson the game seemed to be going in Tennessee's favor as the score was 17-7 and about to head into the half Boise comes up with another big play as the toss a deep pass for six to come within 3 at the half.

The much anticipated second half was all that it was cracked up to be. The Tennessee defense stepped up the challenge and shut down the high powered Boise offense. Adding two field goals in the second half Tennessee ends up winning by 9 and is feeling good heading into next week.
