    Camp Questions
    Pittsburgh Steelers: Head CoachKnightNoles
    1. What happens with Mike Wallace?
      • He finally arrived to camp and played in the first preseason game, he dropped one pass in the endzone and had another target in the game. Besides that we expect a lot of our offense to be centered around Wallace on the outside.
    2. How does the offensive transition into Todd Haley's scheme happen?
      • More ground attack then over the last few years but Ben will still be able to open it up and gun sling. Mendenhall and Dwyer will pound the rock while Rainey will be the change of pace guy.
    3. How will the running backs be used?
      • Mendenhall/Dwyer 1/2
      • Rainey special packages and 3rd down pass guy
      • Either Batch or Redman will be the 3rd down power/pass block guy
    4. Who are the team leaders now that Hines Ward and James Farrior are gone?
      • It is Ben, Pouncey and Heath Miller on offense while Timmons, Clark and Polamalu we be the vocal leaders on defense
    5. Bonus: What does the defense look like with some old bodies in certain positions?
      • DT: Alameda Ta'Amu and Steve McClendon will back up Casey Hampton
      • MLB: Sean Spence and Stevenson Sylvester will back up Larry Foote
      • CB: Ike will be heavily graded over the next year but he can still be a top corner

Pittsburgh took a 14-13 lead into halftime with a beautiful setup screen play to Chris Rainey.

    Game Notes:

Pittsburgh had one great drive, coming after a turnover placing them at the 1. The Steelers drove 99 yards for the first TD of the game.
10 Steeler points in the second quarter and that would be the day for the offense.
17 unanswered points for the Jets including a punt return for a touchdown.
Despite winning the turnover battle the Steelers lost the time of possession and game.

    Game Notes:

Oakland putting together points in all four quarters while Pittsburgh did damage in the second and fourth.
Two punt return TDs, one for each team and the Raiders dominated big play opportunities.
Raiders win the turnover battle, 4 (Pitt) 3 (Oak) and lose the TOP, 14:31 (Pitt) 13:29 (Oak).

    Game Notes:

Eagles won the toss, elected to kick. Antonio Brown made them pay, returned the kick for six.
Pittsburgh has held a lead at halftime in each of their four games.
Eagles dominated all statistical categories except for rushing yards and turnovers.
The birds committed 5 turnovers on the day compared to 0 for the Steelers.
A very hard hitting game as the Eagles lost Vick for the game with a bruised sternum, Desean Jackson with a broken forearm, Brian Rolle and Chad Hall.
Jackson and Rolle will miss multiple weeks
The nail in the coffin came from a catch, hit, fumble that was returned to the endzone by Ryan Clark.

    Game Notes:

A Desync would cost the first game, a defensive battle into a offensive first quarter in the replay.
Tennessee's inability to put together two touchdowns when they gashed Pittsburgh to get close.
Jake Locker interception by Ryan Mundy in the endzone sealed the victory for the Steelers.
Steelers either hold a tie or the advantage at halftime for another week.
Turnovers were even and the Titans controlled the clock

Pittsburgh dominated Andy Dalton, forcing him to throw 7 INTs.

    Game Notes:

RGIII was stifled early on and midway through the 3rd he had only thrown for 30+ yards on 5/8 passing.
Roethlisberger to Sanders was the combination early.
A dominating game for the Steeler offense as they opened up some holes for Mendenhall, his best game on the year.
TOP and turnover battle won by the Steelers

    Game Notes:

A blown play call in the final moments as the Giants stifle the Steelers and leave the Meadowlands scratching their head.
Pittsburgh came out to run the ball and put 215 rushing yards on the board.
Turnovers killed the black and yellow as they gave the Giants five possessions while the Giants would give two of them back.
Time of Possession and rushing yards in favor of Pitt, turnovers as stated belonged to the Giants.

    Statistics:

    338 Offensive Yards 232
    215 Rushing 78

    Game Notes:

The Steelers wanted to come out of this game without any harm done, well that didn't happen.
MLB Lawrence Timmons suffered a torn hamstring
Steelers are finding their running stride, Mendenhall goes over 100 again
First downs, turnovers and time of possession all in the favor of Pitt
    16 to 9 First Downs
    2 turnovers to 4
    18:31 to the Chiefs 9:29
The Chiefs did carve up the Steelers secondary but not putting points on the board hurts the cause.
Brandon Ghee returned an interception 101 Yards

    Game Notes:

Pittsburgh all but dominated in this match up with the Ravens
Steelers had a commanding 21-0 lead into the second quarter, the Ravens were on the board when Ike Taylor didn't wrap up and with Torrey Smith's balance he was upright and his speed took over.
Rush yards, Turnovers and Time of Possession were all in favor of the black and yellow
    42 to 165
    4 to 0
    10:36 to 17:24
Much credit goes to the OL the last three games for dominating the front 7 of opponents, only loss comes to the Giants when the head coach was dumb enough to try and throw the ball.

    Statistics:

    139 Offensive Yards 280

    Game Notes:

Pittsburgh surrendered their first 100 yard rusher and it was the rush that would break their back. Down three, Trent Richardson took a touch 78 yards to pretty much seal the game.
It wasn't without drama though, Pittsburgh was able to cut the lead to 3 and attempt an onside kick. The kick went off a Brown but had enough time to pick it up and secure the victory.
Several plays went to the Browns and they played a very solid game on defense to earn the victory.

    Game Notes:

Dallas got off to a decent start then it was ugly as DeMarco Murray put it on the turf and the Steelers would convert that into points.
Steelers took a 21-10 lead into halftime, a bigger margin then what the score suggested.
Dallas played themselves back into the game and I'm willing to bet that Bob will do things differently in the same situations next time.
Cowboys final possession proved costly, when they had a big play to get them within FG range they elected to try and get the TD before the FG. Well they ended up with the TD but with 0:00 on the board and didn't have a chance at another onside kick.

    Game Notes:

Pittsburgh lost a chance to clinch a playoff spot and gave the Bengals a higher percentage to make them.
Steelers took a 17-14 lead into halftime with a pick 6 from Ike Taylor, endzone to endzone.
Pittsburgh would spoil Ike's 3 interception day.
The Bengals would make several nice plays to keep the MO and the ball in their possession for the remainder of the game to take the win.

    Game Notes:

Pittsburgh defense showed up in the wildcard game to open up the playoffs.
The Texans missed Arian Foster today, but it would be hard to tell if having him would have given any advantage in this game.
Four turnovers , three by putting the ball on the turf cost the Texans dearly.
Roethlisberger was near perfect as he clicked with his WRs today.
Pittsburgh moves on to face the Jets in the Divisional round.

    Game Notes:

NYJ wore out Pittsburgh to begin the game marching into Steeler territory but wound up punting once and missing a long FG.
Points were first scored by the Jets, off a Sanders fumble. Antonio Brown would return the ensuing kick for 6.
A 21 point 2nd quarter for the Steelers and a 3rd quarter score put enough distance from the Jets at 28-14 entering the 4th.
Jets out gained Pittsburgh roughly 2:1 but the Steelers had two important stats, rushing yards and turnovers.

    Game Notes:

Titans being the underdog came in and took the ball from the coin toss. They were able to move the ball somewhat well but each teams first possession involved a punt.
The Steelers were able to get on the board first with a FG and then hitting Mike Wallace on a PA to Mendenhall. Locker would force an out route and Keenan Lewis would jump it to make it 17-7 by halftime.
A stagnant 3rd quarter and 3 points from Pittsburgh pushed the lead 20-7, with Locker driving the Titans inside the 10. They elected to throw a quick screen but forgot Troy Polamalu would be sitting on the route as he picked it off and ran it all the way back for the 20 point lead.
