    Week #1

The Aggies start of the new season with a new Head Coach, HackGolfer. After two mediocre seasons, the Aggies look to gain momentum in the Big XII South and shoot for another Title (the last coming in 1998.)

In Week 1, the Aggies start off on a Bye, and are looking ahead to take on a terrifying Miami Hurricane Offense at Kyle Field. The defense will need to play an A game to stop the Canes from rolling through Kyle Field without a fight..

Aggies blown over by #12 Hurricanes in Home Opener...

The #12 Miami Hurricanes visited Kyle Field in the Aggies season opener for 2011, looking to extend their win streak to 3 over the Aggies and to tack on win #2 of the season. The Aggies, slated as the 11 point underdogs, are hoping to make their fans proud in a home opener under a National Spotlight to kick start the season..

The Aggie Defense was exposed by Miami's strong offense, allowing almost 700 yards to the Canes (364 rushing yards, 334 passing yards_. The A&M Offense struggled to get the ball moving on the ground, and had to rely on big plays from QB Ryan Tannehill to keep the game close with 248 passing yards.

The biggest attribute A&M has is Special Teams. The Aggies scored 3 times on Kickoff Returns (446 yards) allowing the game to be close until some costly turnovers in the 4th quarter. A&M will need to work harder on filling the gaps on the Offensive and Defensive Line if they want to have any shot of a Big XII Title in the coming years..

    Key Stats:
Passing- Ryan Tannehil: 13-22, 248 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Rushing- Christine Michael: 16 att, 65 yds, 1 TD
Receiving- Jeff Fuller: 4 rec, 123 yds, 1 TD
Special Teams: Ryan Swope (2 KR TDS), Kellen McNeal (1 KR TD)

RB Christine Michael runs over TCU, surges Aggies past the Frogs!

The offense as a whole looked better, racking up 447 yards on 70 plays, and converting 58% of their 3rd down conversions. QB Ryan Tannehill had another successful day, putting up 292 yards through the air, and finding his favorite target Jeff Fuller twice in the end zone.

The defense after giving up 700 yards last week, took advantage of a weaker TCU offense and held the Horn Frogs to just 200 yards and only allowed 11 First Downs..

The Aggies look on to a Bye Week before facing old SWC Rival Arkansas on the road..

Michael's 3 TDs lead Aggies past Arkansas' 4th Quarter press...

Fresh off another bye week, the Aggies traveled to Arkansas to take on old SWC Rival, the Arkansas Razorbacks. Arkansas currently holds the series lead 38-24-3, looking to add another victory after losing to the Aggies last season by the hand of Coach fpuent..

The Aggie defense struggled again, allowing 488 yards on 58 plays, and getting torn up through the air thanks to the play of QB Ryan Mallet.. The offense seemed to be rolling in stride for the second straight game, compiling 525 pffensive yards and tacking on 20 first downs.

After having a comfortable 49-20 lead early in the 4th, the Aggies put in their second string team, expecting to coast to an easy victory. Ryan Mallet had other plans, as he led a fierce comeback attempt, scoring 22 points to make the game interesting. One successful onside attempt allowed Arkansas to score with under a minute left, however a failed second attempt would end their chances for good.

Christine Michael shined again, racking up 142 yards on 20 carries, and finding the end zone 3 times, while backup Bradley Stevens was able to tack on another score with his 104 yard effort game.

The Aggie defense will need to find their place next week as Conference Play begins against Oklahoma State..

In the first Big XII Conference game for Coach HackGolfer, the Aggie defense finally played as a unit, holding the #22 ranked Cowboys to just 157 yards on 37 plays. After allowing 21 points in the 2nd qtr, the defense found their rhythm, keeping the Cowboys from scoring in the second half.

The A&M offense had another big day on the ground, finishing up with 521 total offensive yards (301 rush - 220 pass), and moving the chains 26 times. The Aggies did however cough up the ball 4 times (3 fumble, 1 INT) and will need to control the ball better next week against in state rival, Texas Tech..

Tannehill aims the Aggies past Texas Tech with 4 TDs

In the battle for who could win the Big XII South, Texas A&M visited Lubbock and walked away pulling off the upset victory. This game had both offensives exploding play after play, with both teams combining for more than 1400 total yards and both punters staying sidelined the entire game!

The Aggie Rushing attack shined as usual, with 4 different guys running for 231 yards and 2 TDs. The passing attack made the difference for the Aggies however, as Tannehill torched the Red Raider secondary for 255 yards and 4 TDs..

The defense played a sloppy game, and often times looked lost against Tech's spread attack, giving up 311 yards and 3 TDs through the air, as well as another 153 yards on the ground capped with another score.

The A&M defense will need to regroup as they travel to Lincoln next week to take on Coach Forever and the Cornhuskers..

Aggies 4th Quarter meltdown keeps Big Red undefeated..

A big time Big XII matchup between Texas A&M and Nebraska led to be an exciting first 3 quarters, however an Aggie offensive meltdown in the 4th took an upset out of hand..

The Aggies offensive attack remained consistent, as Tannehill was able to find the holes in the Cornhuskers' well-coached secondary and was able to post 166 yards in the air. With Tannehill leaving the game late in the 3rd on an injury, Dorman would flake out in the 4th qtr, throwing 3 INTs to an aggressive Nebraska defense who protected their lead by haulting the Aggies..

A&M faces Kansas at home next week and needs a victory to stay in the South race..

    #22 Texas A&M vs. #17 Wisconsin

    Texas A&M Aggies: 28 - Wisconsin Badgers: 23

Tannehill's 3 TD performance leads the Aggies to a victory in San Antonio!

The Aggies walked off the field champions in the final game of the season, holding on to a victory over #17 ranked Wisconsin in the Alamo Bowl.

QB Ryan Tannehill led the offensive attack, tallying up 3 TDs (1 Pass, 2 Rush), and RB Ryan Swope stepped up after losing Christine Michael to an injury in the rivalry game versus Texas.

    FIRST QUARTER
The Aggies struck first in the middle of the 1st quarter, as Ryan Tannehill hooked up with Jeff Fuller on an 11 yard strike. The Badgers would quickly respond back on an 11 yard pass of their own from C. Phillips to N. Toon, however they would miss the XP. The end of the first qtr would yield a 7-6 Texas A&M lead.

    SECOND QUARTER
Wisconsin would take the lead early in the 2nd quarter on a 40 yard FG by B. Lester. After a few 3-and-outs by both teams, The Aggies would finally find their way into the endzone on a Ryan Swope 1 yard run. The Aggies left too much time on the clock, and Wisconsin would take advantage of the 2 minute drill, scoring with 15 seconds to spare with a 5 yard TD pass. 16-14 Wisconsin lead at the break.

    THIRD QUARTER
Both defenses stepped up to the plate into the 3rd forcing drives to stop, until the Aggie reclaimed the lead on a Ryan Tannehill 3 yard option keeper wit 20 seconds remaining in the 3rd. 21-16 Aggie at the start of the 4th.

    FOURTH QUARTER
The Aggies forced a quick punt after two sacks, and would move effectively down the field again, capped by a 5 yard QB draw to the house. The Aggies held steady until late in the game, giving up a big 26 yard pass with 20 seconds left. A failed Wisconsin onside kick would close the books and the Aggies walked off the field victorious.

RB Christine Michael shines in Season Opener, powers the Aggies past Arkansas...

Electing to stay at Texas A&M for his Junior year, rather than declare for the draft proved to be a pivotal decision for Christine Michael and the Texas A&M Aggies.

Michael kicked things up where he left off last season before a late injury, gaining 160 yards on the ground and tacking on 2 TDs.. Michael constantly found holes in the defensive front, allowing A&M to have short 3rd downs for majority of the game with his 5.7 yds per carry average.

QB Tommy Dorman also looked comfortable in his first game as a starter. Dorman went 15 for 20, for 220 yards and a TD with no interceptions. A few miscued throws and drop passes will need to be worked on for this offensive squad to be a double threat on the ground and through the air still..

    FIRST QUARTER
The Aggies won the toss and elected to defer to the Second Half. Arkansas came out on fire, making their 2 minute, 80 yard TD drive look easy. QB Wilson found a wide open WR Adams for 21 yards and the score to take an early lead. The Aggies would move the ball well on their first series, but would get stalled near the red zone and had to settle for a 35 Yard FG. After forcing a quick 3-and-out, the Aggies got the ball back and moved quickly down the field, stalling again in the red zone and having to settle for 3 points again.. End of First: 7-6 Arkansas Lead

    SECOND QUARTER
The A&M offense would come to life in the second quarter after the defense forced another punt, as Tommy Dorman threw his first career TD pass as a starter to WR Thomas for 17 yards. The Razorbacks would continue to struggle offensively, and were forced to punt at midfield in the middle of the 2nd. The Aggies would make the Razorbacks pay on a long TD drive, capped off by an 11 yard Michael run.. The Razorbacks would tack on a FG with 2 seconds left in the half to come within 10 points at the half.. End of Second: 20-10 Aggie lead

    THIRD QUARTER
After a half-time pep talk by both coaches, the defenses ruled the 3rd quarter, with both teams only being able to settle for a FG. Ryan Epperson kicked a 43 yarder through the uprights for his 3rd FG on the day, and E. Cleveland for the 'Backs would add a 41 yard kick of his own.. End of Third: 23-13 Aggie lead

    FOURTH QUARTER
Christine Michael's domination continued in the 4th quarter, moving the ball with ease on the first drive of the 4th, capping off his day with a 7 yard TD Run up the gut. Arkansas would quickly answer back after a few successful passes thrown deep. QB Wilson hit TE G. Powers in the flat, who rumbled ahead 15 yards for the score. The Aggies would wind the clock, giving both of the backup Freshman (RS) running backs some game time. R. Anderson would sneak his way into the end zone with just under 2 minutes left in the game, to seal the deal for the Aggies first win of the season.

    Virginia Tech (1-0) @ #17 Texas A&M (1-0)

    Virginia Tech Hokies: 14 - Texas A&M Aggies: 7

Red Zone woes for the Aggies prove costly as Texas A&M is stunned at home...

The Aggies struggled to get into an offensive rhythm today, coughing the ball up 3 times and turning the ball over on downs once. The Virginia Tech Hokies didn't fair much better on turnovers, however scored just what they needed to do to walk off Kyle Field with the Win.

Tommy Dorman's starting position may be up for grabs, as the Senior QB looked uncomfortable at best, heaving up 3 INTs as well as failing to convert a 4th and in sneak on the Goal Line. Christine Michael had an average game, but had to miss the 3rd quarter of action for straining his back..

In a positive note, the defense looked much better this week, forcing 3 Virginia Tech turnovers, and foiling the Hokie Option attack for majority of the game.. Coach T2 played one heckuva game, and my cap goes off to him for a job well done! The Aggies will need to regroup to face Miami in the "U" next week, where an even stronger rushing attack awaits them.

    FIRST QUARTER
The Aggies won the toss and elected to defer to the Second Half. Virginia Tech came out hot, with a combination of passing and option runs, but a costly turnover deep in the redzone would end their drive. The Aggies would also make an offensive statement thanks to the legs of Christine Michael, however a INT of their own would end their drive in the red zone and the quarter.. End of First: Tied 0-0

    SECOND QUARTER
The Aggies would force a Virginia Tech punt early in the second, and have a decent return near midfield. A few plays later would result in Tommy Dorman's 2nd pick of the game and a short field for VT. On VT's 3rd play of the drive, a hard hit on a streaking WR cause the ball to pop up and into the hands of Aggie defender R. Cavanaugh for his 2nd INT on the day.. The Aggies would stall on a short drive and be forced to punt away late in the half. Virginia Tech would make it all the way inside the 5 yard line, only to throw a pick on 4th down as time expired to end the half.. End of Second: Tied 0-0

    THIRD QUARTER
Determined to put points on the board, the Aggies came out strong on their first possession of the 3rd quarter, easily driving the length of the field. After a failed 3rd and goal attempt, Coach HackGolfer put the ball in the hands of Senior QB Tommy Dorman to sneak in from the 1-Inch yard line. Dorman would trip over his own feet and fall short of the goal line for a turnoever on downs. Virginia Tech would make the Aggies pay, churning up a 99 1/2 yard drive, scoring the first points of the game on a 2 yard run by A. Treangen.. End of Third: 7-0 Hokie lead

    FOURTH QUARTER
Needing to score quickly, the Aggies continued the combo rushing and passing attack on the pumped up VT defense. Tommy Dorman's 3rd INT of the game would quickly come, setting VT with a short field and an easy score (2 yd run by A. Hopkins) to go up 14. A&M would quickly answer back with a smooth passing attack, capped by a 19 yard pass from Tommy Dorman to C. Hill.. With just over 2 minutes left, the Aggies elected to kickoff rather than try the onside, relying on their defense to get a stop. Two quick passes had VT easily on the other side of the 50.. The Hokies ran the ball a few more times, and then used QB Kneel to wind the game clock down to win one on the road..

    Colorado (4-3) @ #21 Texas A&M (4-2)

    Colorado Buffaloes: 26 - Texas A&M Aggies: 45

A&M Pass Defense raises concerns as the Aggies escape a near upset at home...

The Aggies struggled to defend the pass this week, as the Buffaloes torched the defense through the air for 348 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Aggies found themselves in a hole early in this game, but were able to force some key turnovers to swing momentum in their favor.. A poor defensive showing has the Aggie coaches worried for the home stretch of the season when the team faces passing attacks from Texas Tech and Texas..

    FIRST QUARTER
Colorado won the toss and elected to receive the kick. On an easy drive down the field, Colorado would find the end zone in under a minute with a 17 yard strike to B. Green. After forcing a rare Christine Michael fumble, CU would march down the field again and settle for a 22 yd FG. A&M would comeback by way of the ground, and move quickly down the field for the score on a 1 yd TD run by Christine Michael.. End of First: CU leads 10-7

    SECOND QUARTER
The Aggies' momentum would swing on a crucial fumble recovery/touchdown early in the 2nd, as C. Henderson scooped up the loose rock and took it 72 yards to the house. The play would put A&M on top for the rest of the game. A&M would find the end zone two more time on TD passes from Tommy Dorman to K. McNeal and D. Slater. Colorado would add a FG as time expired, but the damage was done to slowly put the game out of their reach... End of Second: A&M leads 28-13

    C. Henderson takes a fumble recovery back 72 yards and a TD

    THIRD QUARTER
The third quarter would see better defensive play from both teams, forcing many quick 3-and-outs. Colorado would take first blood of the 3rd quarter on a 7 yard TD run by Q. Hildreth. A&M would answer back late in the 3rd with a 13 play, 78 yard drive capped b a 10 yard Christine Michael run End of Third: A&M leads 35-20

    FOURTH QUARTER
After forcing another quick CU punt, A&M would switch into run mode to wind down the clock. RB Christine Michael would break free on the 3rd play, and rumble ahead for 52 yards and his 3rd TD of the game. Colorado would find the end zone one more time on a long 76 yard pass to J. Darden, however a failed onside kick led to a short field and quick 50 yd FG for the Aggies. Colorado QB C. Evans would throw a desperation pass with 1:00 left in the game, only to be picked off for a second time, and allowing the Aggies to kill the clock for good..

    #17 Texas A&M (5-2) @ Baylor (3-3)

    Texas A&M Aggies: 48 - Baylor Bears: 41

A&M takes home the Battle of the Brazos trophy behind the arm of Tommy Dorman; Defense still struggling...

The Aggies struggled to defend the pass for the second straight week, as the Baylor Bears were able to tear up the secondary for 446 yards. The game easily could have gone the other direction, however Tommy Dorman allowed the Aggies to stay in the game by throwin for 400+ yards himself, as well as adding the game winning TD on the ground..

    FIRST QUARTER
A&M won the toss and elected to defer to the 2nd Half. Baylor struck early, on an easy 2 play drive that was capped by a 71 yard TD pass to W. Jefferson. A&M quickly responded on a quick 4 play drive of their own, finished off by a 51 yard TD pass to Brendal Jackson.. End of First: Tied 7-7

    SECOND QUARTER
After the quick two scores, both teams struggled to move the ball until Baylor was able to add a field goal in the middle of the 2nd qtr. A&M would quickly answer again on another long TD pass of 46 yards to C. Hill. Baylor would take a long drive from their own 10 all the way down with 35 seconds on the clock to add another TD Pass and to take the lead. A&M would not go down easy however, and would kick a 29 yard FG as time expired (thanks to a facemask penalty)... End of Second: Tied 17-17

    THIRD QUARTER
Both teams would continue to exchange blows in the 3rd qtr, starting off on a 9 yard TD run by A&M RB Christine Michael. Baylor would score again on a long quick drive on a 73 yard pass to L. Allison. Both teams would add a FG in the middle of the 3rd.. Aggie kick returner K. McNeal would make his first TD of the season on a 93 yard return following the Baylor FG, and Baylor would again respond on a long run of 65 yards... End of Third: Tied 34-34

    FOURTH QUARTER
A&M would take a successful drive down to the red zone to start the 4th, however a freshman fumble would give Baylor that ball back, and allow QB Nick Florence to throw his 4th TD of the day. With only 3 minutes left, A&M was trailing by 7 and needed to wind the clock and score to keep the Baylor offense off the field. A&M would score in less than a minute on a Reggie Anderson run, leaving 1:50 on the clock. A huge stand by the defense gave the Aggies the ball back with 50 seconds to play, and Dorman would make the game winner on a 3 yard option keeper with 14 seconds on the clock...

    #9 Oklahoma (6-1) @ #15 Texas A&M (6-2)

    Oklahoma Sooners: 34 - Texas A&M Aggies: 45

Tommy Dorman muscles the high powered Aggie offense past the #9 Sooners at home...

It appears that Tommy Dorman has finally found comfort in commanding the Aggie offense as he shined for the second straight week. Dorman accounted for 6 of the Aggies 7 TDs this week (4 pass, 2 rush), and amassed almost 370 yards through the air, tearing apart the OU secondary all game long... The defense still looked lost at times, and struggled to hold the Sooners to under 400 yards of offense...

    FIRST QUARTER
A&M won the toss and elected to defer to the 2nd Half. Oklahoma struck easily on the first drive when RB Calhoun found the end zone on a 7 yard scamper.. A&M answered back on a slow, 10 play drive, when Tommy Dorman found DJ Thomas wide open in the red zone for a 9 yard score.. End of First: Tied 7-7

    SECOND QUARTER
Oklahoma would easily rumble down the field again with the passing attack, which would set up another Calhoun TD run. The XP would bounce off the right post, leaving a window open for the Aggies to squeak out a win down to the wire. On the Aggies next drive, OU would finally make A&M pay on their spread attack, when LB N. Jackson read Tommy Dorman's eyes and came down with a one-handed pick.. OU would get stalled on a 3-and-out and be forced to punt away. A&M would take another long drive down into the OU red zone, where Tommy Dorman would scramble free on a broken play to find the end zone from 3 yards out.. OU would respond on their 3rd quick drive of the game, as RB Calhoun found the end zone again.. With a minute left on the clock, the Aggies needed to at least come away with a FG to stay in reach of the Sooners.. K. McNeal would return the kickoff all the way to the OU 15, setting the Aggies up on an easy 2 play TD drive to end the half.. End of Second: 21-20 Aggie lead

    THIRD QUARTER
The Aggies would continue where they left off in the second half, controlling the clock and moving the ball easily through the air. Tommy Dorman would find the end zone again on an option keeper for his 4th TD of the game. OU would come out and score on their first play on a 69 yard pass.. They would attempt the 2-pt conversion to tie the game on a run up the middle, but were stuffed at the line.. After a few exchanges between the two teams, A&M would give their lead a boost thanks to a 67 yard pass from Tommy Dorman to DJ Thomas.. End of Third: 35-26 A&M Lead

    FOURTH QUARTER
After another strong defensive stand, the Aggies would find themselves in a comfortable lead, as Reggie Anderson broke out on a 39 yard option run for the go ahead score early in the 4th.. OU would battle back on a long drive, and a successful 2-pt conversion put the Sooners within one score.. Electing to kickoff instead of try the onside, OU would give the ball back to the Aggies with 3:30 left to go, and the Aggies would wind the clock all the way to 15 seconds before settling for a 36 yard FG on 4th down. With not enough time left on the clock and now down 2 scores, OU would take 3 heaves at the end zone only to come up short

    Texas Tech (1-7) @ #12 Texas A&M (7-2)

Texas Tech Red Raiders: 26 - Texas A&M Aggies: 34

A&M struggles offensively, holds on by winning the turnover battle over the Red Raiders..

The Aggie offense looked out of tune this week, and were only able to pick up 230 yards on the Texas Tech defense. Dropped passes where a major problem, as Tommy Dorman only went 7-28 for 2 TDs and could only convert 3-12, 3rd Down Conversions.. Statistically wise, A&M should have been way out of the game, but forcing 4 TTU turnovers compared to their 2 allowed A&M to hold on to a win at home..
