    TEXAS GAME SUMMARIES

I lost. The coach appeared to be half tipsy on the sideline. Speculation is the flu. Rumors that maybe he had had a few too many cocktails before the game have started to surface. After the game he had no comment on how the game went. Either he was too sick to talk or couldn't remember too much about it. Back to you Dan.

    DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!! DEFENSE!!
If you were looking to see anything else you came to the wrong game. Though USC scored on the opening drive of the game, FGs and a defensive TD is all you saw the rest of the game.
Total offense in the game combined, 479yds. Though 337 of that belonged to USC they were only able to put the ball in the end zone one time. Four FGs accompanied the TD for USC. A combined 7 TOs in the game, 6 by way of interception. Each team had 3 picks while USC lost the ball via fumble once.
The Longhorns putrid offense ran the ball 20 times for 20 yards. McCoy was 8-18 for 122 yds and 3 picks. Texas' lone score came in the 2nd Qtr via fumble returned 78 yds.

Two fumbles on the Longhorns first two possessions put them in an early 14-0 hole. It was a hole they never could even claw their way out of. The offense looked horrible. No matter what formation was put out there the Buckeyes were able to shut it down. The defense was run over, through and thoroughly made to look foolish. For the Longhorns the season could quickly be over it something is not turned around fairly quickly.

The Longhorns score their first victory of the season with an upset over #24 Missouri. Texas took control of the game early with a fumble recovery for a TD. Everything seemed to be clicking as the Horns stuck it to them all game. The two TDs by the Tigers in the 4th quarter made the game appear closer than it actually was. The Horns have their Senior RB returning this week just in time to face the current #6 OU in the Red River Shootout. A game like this is exactly what they needed going in to this bitter rivalry.

The first game back after a leave of absence for the coach saw the Longhorns offense come out red hot. Throwing, rushing and even special teams lit it up to put 38 points on the Tide. The defense was a little shaky surrendering 28.
The Longhorns have now made themselves bowl eligible after not playing in a bowl last year.
