The Cougar offense goes 3 & out. Texas adds on another 3 to take a 20-0 lead into the locker room.
Houston throws to Texas. Wait, no, that's right. UT picks off Houston on the opening 3rd Quarter possession. Sophomore CB Justin "I got a basketball" Jones looks more like the receiver than the defender.
Freshman UT OLB Richard Lucas gives Houston's QB the "cold shoulder" injuring him on a broken play. Drew Hollingshead would leave the game with a Bruised Shoulder. Drew will be out for 3 weeks.
Garrett Gilbert puts the game away with a TD pass to DJ Monroe, 27-0.
The defense gets another pick. UT starts inside the 30. The Longhorns definitely put the game out of reach with Chris Whaley's 2nd TD of the game. This one of 7 yards on an option pitch.

#17 Texas 31 @ #2 Florida 14
Texas goes into the swamp and pulls out a victory. After being down 14-0, the Longhorns thought they were in for a long night. That wasn't the case as the defense pulled their pants back up and went to work. Ending the day with 5 takeaways, 3 interceptions and 2 fumbles.
Garrett Gilbert calmed down after throwing an early pick to finish the day with over 150 yards passing and a touchdown. I think the story of the day was our running back Chris Whaley's ability to shake defenders whether it was by force or finesse. He wasn't able to get over the century mark but he sure did leave the defense with some growing pains.
Texas goes on a bye to prepare for the journey through the Big 12 conference play.

Baylor 3 @ #11 Texas 30
This game features two undefeated teams from the Big 12 conference. Baylor comes into this game after beating SMU & FCS NW. Which explains why their total defense ranks #4 in the nation. They also sport the best rush defense only allowing 70 yards so far. 337 yards pass yards have been gained against the Bear defense to give them a #7 ranking.
However, they have to travel to DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium, currently ranked the 7th toughest place to play. Texas, fresh off a gritty performance against the former ranked #2 team in the nation, in the Florida Gators. The Longhorns look to battle as they prepare for a much anticipated Red River Rivalry showdown with the Oklahoma Sooners.
The Game Analysis
Texas dominates in the 1st half on all facets of the game. Defense wins championships. Offensively, we were pretty solid through most of the half having a couple spotty plays. The Longhorns lead 21-0 and look to cruise to an undefeated match-up with the Sooners next week.
Baylor doesn't show up, gets pummeled into the ground. Texas shows brute force on defense as always.

Texas 27 vs Oklahoma 24
Texas wins again! A game that probably shouldn't have been won, did. The Longhorns found a way to win. They shut the OU offense down in the 2nd half. They forced a fumble on a would be score for the Sooners which turned the game drastically around. I don't know much to say. The Longhorns are poised to make a run at the Big 12 Title and perhaps the National Title.

Texas forces Mizzou to a 3 & out. We put together a nice drive resulting in 7. Gilbert hits DJ Monroe on 3rd & 10 inside the 20.
Double the fun, double the pleasure. Texas does it again, forcing Mizzou to a quick 3 & out and cashing in 7. This time Chris Whaley shows some speed instead of brute force. Whaley finds paydirt on a 60 yard run!
3 & out has been the theme of the 1st Quarter, Texas punches in another score, this time Gilbert hits Deion Grant for 6 to put the Longhorns up 21-0.
Whaley, turns the game into a snoozer with his 2nd score of the game nudging the Longhorns to take a 28-0 lead.

#4 Texas 31 @ Texas Tech 9
Texas forces a punt, cashes in 3.
Garrett Gilbert goes to work after the bruise, Chris Whaley puts in work. Gilbert finds DJ Monroe on a 5 yard TD.
Texas' defense storms the Tech offense forcing a 3 & out. Gilbert comes back with a 29 yard TD throw to Matt Davis to put the Longhorns up 17-0.(It didn't credit on the scoring summary because I challenged the play, they gave the touchdown to the running back but the stats show Gilbert with only 1 TD so far and he should have 2, weird)
Gilbert hits Davis for a 53 yard score.
Texas misses a field goal at the end of the half.
Garrett gets hit and throws an interception to the DT. Tech takes over inside UT territory. Erik Edwards is alone in the endzone when he catches Tech's first points. Tech goes for 2 but fails to convert, 24-6 UT.
Turnovers continue to cure UT in the 2nd half as Whaley fumbles while going to the ground. Tech hits a field goal, 24-9.
Whaley pounds it in to assure the Longhorns a V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!
#4 Texas 31 @ Colorado 14
Texas is stuffed on their 1st possession. CU drives like nobody has since OU. Both teams exchange touchdowns but it hurts UT because our selection to receive the ball.
Dumbest play by the CPU I've seen so far. They call timeout on 4th and 1 with about 1 second on the clock. I have the ball at my 10 yard so I am punting from my endzone. I punt the ball, they don't fair catch. PR beats a couple tackles and gets blasted. I return the fumble for a TD.
Texas would come out strong in the second half with tons of momentum. The UT forces a punt then follows up with 6 to put the game 21-7 with an XP.
Another turnover would haunt CU's chances of making a comeback. Deep inside UT territory they would try for a screen. The QB would be mauled and fumbled the ball. UT takes over.
UT's K. Hawthorne would add a field goal after some exchanges by both offenses. Game would be 24-7 with 4:56 to go in the 4th.
UT seals the deal with a 31-14 win. It wasn't a convincing win but a win nonetheless.
Oklahoma State 7 @ #4 Texas 31
UT drives down the field and stuffs it in to complete an 11 play 71 yard drive. Whaley pounds the rock 8 times for 33 yards topping the drive off with a score.
Cowboy's QB makes a mistake trying to run on this Longhorn D. He pays for it by fumbling, giving UT the ball inside their territory. UT makes them pay on the 1st play of the next possession when Garrett hits Matt Davis for the two touchdown lead.
Gilbert makes it look easy as he finds Matt Davis for the second time to put the Longhorns up 20-0, extra point awaiting.
Gilbert finds his RG. Wait... Yes, a ball that flopped in the air caused by a hit from the defender allowed the lineman to grab the ball.

#11 Texas A&M 3 @ #4 Texas 41
Texas comes into this game looking for a win over instate rival A&M. Also, a ticket to the Big 12 Championship game against #1 Nebraska is on the line. Texas comes out and dominates in a devastating fashion. Offensively, we didn't need much firepower as the defense lit A&M up. Forcing turnovers was key in the victory as the Longhorns picked Tommy Dorman 6 times. Eric Hollis snagged 3 while Richard Lucas grabbed 2. Texas flexed their muscles once again only allowing 163 yards of Total Offense to the Red-Headed step child. Good game Hack, there's always next year!
Here is a pick by Eric Hollis that should be a Play of The Week!
Next Up: Turtle Soup
#4 Texas 37 @ #8 Maryland 31
Texas comes out of this one on top. Matt Davis kicked things off with a bang as he returned the opening kick off for a touchdown. Despite being up 24-7, Texas managed to make some bad mistakes and let the Terrapins claw their way back. Coach Cimmy did a great job minus his starter & back up running backs. The defense didn't play as well but did enough to secure the victory when needed. Chris Whaley had a Whale of a day rushing 22 times for 122 yards and 3 touchdowns. None of our receivers had breakout performances but they caught the pigskin when needed. Eric Hollis added another interception to this year's resume as he has been on a two-game tear. Maryland was a formidable opponent and we wish them nothing but luck for the rest of the year.
#2 Texas 28 vs #1 Florida State 21
Texas wins the National Championship! Great end to a great season. Texas fans had a heart attack as the Seminoles mounted a comeback after being down 28-0. They scored 21 unanswered points to create havoc. The Longhorns have done it!
