Offense: QB Hall is back after a year in which he greatly underperformed. A new playbook with different formations should help out this year. HB Lawrence is now the feature back and well be spelled by two true freshman. Mitchell becomes the primary WR who looks to get some passes down field. The offense line is experienced and looks to pave the way once again this season.

Defense: DT Van returns after contemplating the draft and looks to be a one man wrecking crew again. The LB corps have great first steps and looks to run by blockers into the backfield. The secondary is going to be thin and inexperienced. True freshman Franz might see playing time if either McCoy or Cantrell cannot hold their own. Keyes returns at FS with Smith replacing do it all Howard at SS.

Special Teams: K Crawford has a leg and looks to see if he can knock a couple of 60 yarders in this year. A battle for KR will progress up until the first game.

Schedule: The year starts off with a game against a good Miami team. Then comes the big game week 2 against #1 Florida. It will be an early test to see if Texas is a national title contender this year. Games against Oklahoma and Nebraska will once again shape the Big XII picture.
