    Week 2

It was an old SWC rivalry that went just about the same as the old days. Shead started out the scoring for the Horns as he scored on runs of 45 and 1 yards. Rice had a chance to put up points early, but turned it over on downs at the Texas' 20. QB Hall would then throw a nice 33 yard pass to WR Davis, as he tiptoed his way into the endzone. Rice would get on the board as Harris took a screen pass, broke a couple of tackles and took it 76 yards. But Texas put the game away as after a Shead TD, DT Kelly would scoop & score off a Owl fumble. Surprisingly, the POTG was 3rd string true freshman Ingram, who in mop up duty had 132 yards and 2 scores as Lawrence went down with injury early in the game. "I liked what I saw out of the freshman Ingram and backup QB McCollum. We really need to improve on the tackling. I dont care if it was raining, there is no excuse for that many missed tackles." - Coach Mexi. Next week will be a rivalry game against another SWC foe Arkansas.

    Week 5 - Iowa St

Iowa St gave Austin a bit of a scare, as A Hall int turned into 6 for the Cyclones on the first drive. From that point on, though, Shead took over the game. He had scores of 56, 17, 54, and 24 yards in the game. He totaled up to have 258 yards with his 4 scores for the game. The defense completely stifled the Clones all game long. It was a nice tuneup game before the hated Sooners come to Dallas to face off in the Red River Rivalry.

    Week 6 - Oklahoma

There was much buildup and anticipation to this game, but didnt quite live up to its billing. Shead began the game with a 1 yard score. From there on, turnovers would kill the Sooners. An interception on the next drive gave Texas a short field, which turned into a Shead score. A fumble on the ensuing kickoff lead to a Horne scoop and score. Another Sooner fumble off a huge hit would lead to a Hall TD throw, and just like that, it was 28-0 in the blink of an eye. 7 turnovers total were committed by OU, 4 fumbles and 3 interceptions. OU was able to stage a mini-comeback, scoring 21 in the fourth. But the deficit was too much to overcome. "Huge win for the program. It keeps us right on track of where we want to be."

    Week 7 - Baylor

There was no letdown following the OU win. Baylor came, they saw, and got conquered. Texas scored the games first 42 points, as Baylor had no efficiency on offense. It also didnt help that the Bears had 3 turnovers. Shead was the POTG, going for 117 yards with 4 scores. Sets up for a huge showdown against Nebraska next week.

    Week 8 - Nebraska

A preview of what could be the Big XII champ game results in the first loss of the season for the Horns. The Huskers went up 10-0 in the first behind the running of Heard, who got a 73 yard TD run. Texas responded with a Lawrence TD. A late FG in the first half for Nebraska made the score 20-14 at the half. Texas then drove deep into Nebraska territory, but on 4th and short could not get the first down. Nebraska on its next drive did convert on 4th and short, and got a score out of it. Texas could never catch up. Heard soundly tore through the D, getting 223 yards on the ground. Shead, on the other hand, was only able to get 68 yards. Texas will have time to regroup before a rematch, and just has to take care of the rest of the Big XII teams to get there.

    Week 9 - Texas Tech

Texas had to rebound from their first loss quickly as they now faced the in-state rivals at Tech. The game started off slow, as Hall threw a pick, but he recovered nicely. Throwing back to back TDs to Mitchell and Davis. Techs high scoring offense wasnt able to do much, as they fumbled the ball 3 times, only managed 3 points, and even committed a safety. Their one TD came on a fumble by backup QB McColumn.

    Week 10 - Oklahoma St

The Pokes were on the wrong end of an old fashioned beating. Texas whipped up 49 points on them before they even tasted the endzone. Shead had himself a monster of a game, as he got 215 yards with 5 TDs, busting out runs of 68 and 75 yards. The Pokes were completely shut down on offense, as they only managed 185 total yards, and their lone score came off a Texas fumble from the second teamers.

    Week 11 - Kansas St

The score best summarizes the story of the game. QB Hall was able to pick apart the D, going 13-16, 241 yards, and 3 TDs. The defense made their presence felt, as they pitched a shutout on the game. The defense has only given up 3 PPG since the Nebraska game, and is playing at a high level. The Horns have one more conference game against the hated Aggies, and then will have a rematch set up against Nebraska in the CCG.

    Week 13 - Texas A&M

The always hated Aggies made their way into Austin, where they were not treated to a grand time. Texas began by putting 21 up in the first off of Shead runs of 1, 6, and 3 yards. The Aggies would never get close. Shead finished off with 120 yards and 4 scores, while QB Hall threw for 221 yards. The game gives the Horns a double digit win total, and clinches their spot in the Big XII championship rematch against the Huskers. Before that, in state team TCU looks to spoil any slim national title championship hopes Texas has.

    Week 14 - @ TCU

TCU was on the verge of busting into the BCS once again, but Texas said no to the non BCS school. Texas jumped out to an early 21 point lead behind the 3 TDs of 2nd HB Lawrence. MLB Donta intercepted one pass, and two punts by P Crawford put TCU at their own goalline. The punter, imo, should get the POTG, as all three of his punts were inside the 5 and averaged 42 yards per punt. TCU constantly was having to drive the entire field, but could only manage 166 total yards against the Texas D. The rematch against Nebraska is in a couple of weeks, as they stakes are much higher this game. Both teams are looking for a Big XII championship and, with a win, a chance to possibly sneak into the title game.
