    Rangers acquire Jose Bautista
With Bautista in the mix, Texas should have one of the best Lineups in Major League History.
After a disappointing 78-84 the Texas Rangers decided that it was time to be aggressive, "B. E. AGGRESSIVE!" (love cheerleaders). :D

With that mindset, the Rangers approached the Toronto Blue Jays and started to discuss the availability of 2012 AL MVP Jose Bautista.

Toronto responded with their demands, and boy oh boy were they steep. Toronto wanted Texas' Top Pitching Prospect SP Martin Perez, their Top Hitting Prospect RF Carlos Reyes, along with two other players that have a moderate to high ceiling SS Jurickson Profar and 3B Christian Villanueva.

Jose Bautista will add even more Power to an already Powerful Texas lineup.

Rangers GM CeeGee in a press conference after the trade was announced:

"We are not happy with how things turned out last Season. Our fans deserve better than what we showed last year. The addition of Jose was a move that we felt we simply had to make, to show our fans that we are serious about winning and winning now. There is no doubt in my mind that the four players we sent to Toronto will be very successful and we wish them nothing but the best."

The trade comes on the heels of the 4 year contract extension that was recently given to Josh Hamilton. Also, despite taking on Bautista's $14,000,000 contract, the Rangers still have plenty of money left to go after some big time Starting Pitching (their weak link last year) should they chose to do so. One name that has already been discussed is Zach Greinke who will be on the Open Market here shortly.

Rangers land 'Doc' Halladay and Miggy Cabrera.
If you thought they were done when they traded for Jose Batista, think again...

New coming out of Texas today is that the Rangers have acquired two more All Stars to an already LOADED team. Starting Pitcher Roy 'Doc' Halladay was acquired in a deal with the Phillies, who appear to be in complete rebuild mode. Halladay will be the Rangers #1 Starter, and look to anchor a rotation that was simply unimmpressive last Season.

    Halladay 2012 = 13 W - 17 L - 3.60 era - 1.18 WHIP - 237.2 IP - 196 K

    Rangers GM CeeGee:
"Our starting pitching was a disappointment last season. We knew we had to address it this Off-Season and we feel we have done just that. Whenever you can add a player of Roy's caliber, it instantly takes some pressure off everyone in the rotation. We're also hoping that he can help some of our younger guys learn a few things as we believe he's one of the best Starting Pitchers in the game today"

In addition to Halladay, the Rangers pulled off another big trade with the Detroit Tigers. The trade will bring Miguel 'Miggy' Cabrera to Texas and give the Rangers yet another Big Bopper in an already ridiculous lineup.

Miggy will move back to his natural 1st Base position, as the Rangers already have an All Star in Adrian Beltre at 3rd Base.

Cabrera 2012 = .317 with 27 HR and 63 RBI in just 378 at bats.

    Rangers GM CeeGee:
"It started off as just a little discussion with us and the Tigers about Miggy. We honestly thought we had no shot of ever acquiring him. After some long talks however we were finally able to come to an agreement and we couldn't be happier. We know Miggy is happy to be back at 1st base, and we plan on giving him a few days off here and there in the field. We plan on using him at DH and 1st Base because we know he is recovering from a pretty serious injury in 2012. I figure Miggy and Michael Young can hold down the DH / 1B position without any real fall off for either."

Here is the Projected Texas Rangers Lineup for 2013 and beyond.

    1. SS - Elvis Andrus
    2. 2B - Ian Kinsler
    3. CF - Josh Hamilton
    4. LF - Jose Batista
    5. 1B - Miguel Cabrera
    6. RF - Nelson Cruz
    7. 3B - Adrian Beltre
    8. DH - Michael Young
    9. Catcher - not sure who the starter will be yet.

Outside of the #9 Catcher slot, the Rangers lineup One through Eight should be simply ridiculous.
