    TFC - Middleweight Tournament

    TFC MIDDLEWEIGHT TOURNAMENTS

(all round 1 matches will be 3 rounds and held at the Red Rock Casino venue)

    ROUND 1 MATCHUPS

#1 seed Anderson “The Spider” Silva (Colemanchu) vs. #8 seed Ricardo Almeida (cpu)
    Ref - Steve Mazzagati
Widely regarded as the best P4P fighter in the world, Silva has been unbeatable the last few years and was so dominant in the UFC, he was moved up to LHW and had challengers move up from Welterweight to give him competition. But in a new organization with new blood, no one thinks the Spider will be as dominant. He starts off with what should be a tuneup in Almeida though.

#4 seed Michael “The Count” Bisping (DigginGraves) vs. #5 seed Thales Leites (Bahnzo)
    Ref - Mario Yamasaki
Let me start off by saying that Leites is on probation right from jump. His last fight in the UFC vs Anderson Silva was a disgrace to MMA fans. If he pulls that shit in the TFC he will be run from the organization, lol. Seriously though, Leites is a very talented BBJ fighter. The Count started a whole movement of fighters coming over from England after winning TUF. This matchup pits 2 very hungry young fighters, with the winner likely getting a shot at the best fighter in the world.

#2 seed Dan “Hollywood” Henderson (EaglesIrish) vs. #7 seed Nate Marquadt (cpu)
    Ref - Herb Dean
Henderson has been in this sport a very long time and has been in some epic wars. If you doubt me, just look at those ears of his. For awhile, while Hendo was in Japan, Marquadt was known as Hendo light, possessing a very similar fight style. This should be a great matchup with both guys wanting to do the same thing. The winner will be the one who gets off first, and my money is on the guy with the cauliflowers.

#3 seed Rich “Ace” Franklin (Shaun) vs. #6 seed Yushin Okami (cpu)
    Ref - Steve Mazzagati
Let’s be fair here. If Anderson Silva never came to the UFC from Pride, Franklin might still be the MW champ. He looked dominant until that 1st matchup with the Spider and has yet to regain his form. Okami will bang with him but Franklin has the superior standup skills and should advance to the 2nd round.
