TFL12: TFL Cup Rules and Structure Format The competition is a knockout tournament with pairings for each round drawn at random. There are no seeds and the draw for each round is not made until after the scheduled dates for the previous round. The draw also determines which teams will play at home. Each match is played as a single leg. If a match is drawn, there is a replay, at the ground of the team who were away for the first game. Drawn replays are settled with extra time and penalty shootouts. Replays are not held for the semi-finals or final. Rounds There are 6 rounds to the cup. The first round consists of 16 teams with the top 4 L1 teams and the other 20 PL teams with a bye. The 8 winners will join the remaining 24 teams of the TFL. Round 2 starts with 32 teams. It will appear as such: Round 1 16 teams 24 Byes Round 2 32 teams Round 3 16 Teams Quarter Final 8 Teams Semi Final 4 Teams Final 2 Teams Scheduling We will not hold make up games for TFL Cup matches. If the game is unplayed, then the winner will be based on scheduling effort.
