    Benfica (2) v Lyon (1)

    Benfica
    :goal: Aimar (15)
    :goal: Cardozo (48)

    Lyon
    :goal: Gourcuff (63)

GG Kreb. Was very even throughout. Cardozo's goal came off a misplaced clearance that ended up headed back in to Cardozo who found himself in some space and was able to fininsh. Lyon had their fair share of chances, outshooting us 15-9 and 6-5 in shots on target.

I just don't know what to do anymore. Some games I hit a bit of bad luck, but others I just blow chance after chance as I just did against Bryan. Big, giant sigh. Oh well. There's always next season.

    Week 4 Makeup Match

    Benfica (1) v Liverpool (0)

    Benfica
    :goal: Salvio (90)

Liverpool came out and dominated the first half, keeping 58% of the possession. But, after a formation change and then a couple of substitutions Benfica was able to come out and get some good possession and create some good chances in the 2nd half. 70th minute sub Eduardo Salvio would prove to be the hero, breaking through on a counter started with a Luisao header from midfield to score in the 90th minute. I don't think I deserved a win. I would've been happy with a draw. Both games I lost were very enjoyable, so you can't ask for more than that.

Delgado's red was two yellows just to be clear. It was two so so tackles and not one awful one, just for the record. :)

We need goal line technology! ;) Nah, it was clearly out. So close, though.

I forgot about that one! It was such an odd play, I thought for sure it was going in between the fact that my goalie was laying on the ground and you had a guy running on to it lol.

Very fun back and forth game. Hamburg's set pieces came up big as both Trochowski and Roberto were able to score from free kicks.

This was the better of the two.

I was really hoping to pull a result in that Fulham game. I lost the champs league game 2-1 although I think I should've gotten a win or at least a draw. I had so many great chances but his goalie made some nice saves and my finishing was not very good.

Second game, it was pretty much even all around, we both probably should've put in another goal or two, so I can't really complain about a draw... it was probably the deserved result.

The Hamburg game was never really in question, but he got unlucky at the end (the kind of stuff that usually happens to me at the end of games to give me a L or D) and I got two goals after getting tackled.

I'm at my wits end with semi right now and I'm about at the point you were Kreb. I've never allowed 4 goals in league play. The gotdamn suction headers are making me crazy along with the insane tackling abilities of players. I'm this far from resigning from the league after this season.

I may pull a Kreb ;) if I can find out what I'm doing wrong, but right now its just ugly.

    Hey now!

On those headers the guys were pretty open.

The first was, the 2nd not so much, but I'm not trying to take anything from you. You deserved the win. That's just the way the game is played and either I compete, lose, or call it a day. I'm more frustrated with the tackling and the ease with which you can defend on semi. Please don't take this to a slight to you @Killernuts, because its not. I find myself doing often too.

Its just that imo, FIFA too often devolves into a streak up the sidelines, followed by a cross because its the most effective way to score. It is what it is.

Headers are a serious issue. It's not that the person who gets them isn't open as was said above, it's the fact that your defender can never get to the header unless he's in the right spot when the ball is kicked. The offensively player usually just is able to block off the defender. It's a reason I like manual, because it doesn't fix that, but crosses not being put right on peoples head helps.

Stats from my last match, again taking nothing away from my opponent but I feel like I am often on the losing end of the tackling stat by quite a bit.

    Benfica v Villarreal
    16 Shots 8
    8 Shots on Target 12
    58 Possession 42
    13 Tackles 36
    1 Fouls 3
    0 Yellow Cards 2
    0 Red Cards 0
    2 Injuries 1
    0 Offsides 5

Score was 6-0 Villarreal, I'm sure he'll post the result here soon. I agree 100% with ElPrez though, tackling and defending feels so easy but maybe I just suck lol.

It doesn't help that I finished like Lyon either :D My finishing has gone to crap lately for some reason.. I need to work on that badly.
