    The 1st Annual "Turkey Bowl"

    Kent State @ Buffalo

This conference battle pits 2 teams that look to string out a win to guarantee a Bowl Bid, and possibly a conference title.

    Kent State

    Record : 6-2
    Conf Rec : 3-1

Kent State will rely on their QB G.Morgan, who has an overall rating of 132. He completes 62% of his passes and has throw for 2,396 Yards so far. He has also throw 17 TD's,... but has also throw 18 INT's. He will need to control the ball effectively and make good decisions in order to keep Kent State in the game.

Biggest question is... will Morgan be Healthy enough to play? Without Morgan, back up QB S.Battles will have to continue to receive the snaps. Battle has completed 60% of his passes and thrown for 765 Yards with 6 TD's since Morgan went down. If Morgan can't make the game.... it will be in the hands of Battle, a sophomore RS.

    Buffalo
    Record : 6-2
    Conf Rec : 5-0

Cat and Mouse? Star RB B.Thermilus thinks so. He has rushed for 746 Yards and 8 TD's to this point in the season. His play has helped take some pressure off the QB by committee. For QB, we predict Jorgensen to start, as he has thrown 9TD's to only 1 INT this year. Don't be surprised if we see Maynard though, any slip up from Jorgensen may get him pulled, an although Maynard has throw only 8TD's to 11 INT's this season, he's also throw for over 700 more yards.

Biggest concern : Its got to be the O-Line. They have allowed 15 sacks this year. They will need to work on keeping the QB clean and drill some holes for Thermilus if they plan on coming out of this game with a win.

    My Prediction
    Kent State : 21 (OT)
    Buffalo : 27 (OT)

I think its an even matched game and I look for this to be a possible OT game. Look for Turn Over to tell the story in the end, as a pick 6 will win it for Buffalo in OT.

If Buffalo wins, they will pretty much lock up the MAC. If Kent State pulls it out, they will be put into 1st place and control their own destiny from there. This is the biggest game in the MAC this season.... and it looks to be a good one.

How do you plan on containing Buffalo's RB.... and how do you contain the PA?

We are well aware of the challenge posed, and we have had a leaky defense at times during the year, but what gives us an edge is that we have faced some of the premiere backs in the league this year.

The goal is to get the ball out of the RBs hands and make the QBs beat you. No doubt our playcalling will put our guys in a position to make plays.
