Spartans come in as underdogs, stomp the Trojans
    #5 MSU - 45
    #3 USC - 23
In the classic battle of Spartan vs Trojans, the Spartans came out victorious in this teams first meeting since the 1990 John Hancock Bowl, which the Spartans won 17-16. This game was a bit more lopsided as the offense play to near perfection and the Seniors had one last hurrah! The Spartans bring the Rose Bowl trophy back to East Lansing along with their second Big Ten title in two years.
The scoring started early for MSU as Senior OLB Wilson would snag a pass from the USC QB and return it for a TD. USC wouldn't take long to answer as Baxter shredded the defense, setting up a short TD pass for USC. The following kickoff would be taken 99 yards for a touchdown by none other than the return expert himself Keith Mumphrey, this would make his 5th kick return for a TD this season, he almost broke 1,000 KR yards. USC would only manage a FG to make the game 14-10. Nick Hill would then take the first play of that drive 78 yards to the house, making the end of the 1st quarter score 21-10.
Both teams would swap FG's and then TD's, making it an even quarter for both. Baxter would get his big run to counter Hill's but Mumphrey would haul in his last receiving TD as a Spartan. This quarter and the rest of the game would be pretty uneventful except for MSU scoring 14 more points and holding USC to 7. With this lopsided win, a Top 3 spot is almost guaranteed for MSU, maybe even one of the Top 2.
Michigan State caps off another successful season under Coach Masler, who has just signed a 4 year deal with the Spartans. They finish off at 11-2 (8-0) and everyone in East Lansing is starting to talk about a National Title.
    Coach Masler following the game:
"I am extremely proud of this team, I couldn't have played it better myself. Our Seniors made their last impression today and we wish them all the luck in their future endeavors. Anthony May just might have earned himself the starting role in 2015 with that 12 for 12 performance. I love winning a BCS Bowl but today we looked like we were ready to take on anyone. To start of 0-2 and bounce back to finish in the Top 5 and win the conference is a dream, well we made it a reality. See everyone in 2015! GO GREEN!!
