The Texas Longhorns have fired the Offensive and Deffensive Co-ordinators.

The firings come after losing their 3rd game of the season to Oklahoma State and being knocked out of contention to defend their 4 consecutive Big XII Titles.
After a season that started with arguable the most talented roster in all of college football and beinig picked by most to win the National Championship the Longhorns have under acheived and not lived up to their potential. Once Heisman hopeful SR QB Connor Wood was benched during halftime of the Oklahoma State game and did not see the field the following game against Kansas State. Wood had thrown 17 ints on the year and Coach Slick elected to start Soph QB Stephon Williams to see what the future looks like for his field General. Coach Slick has decided that if the Seniors did not want to step up and realize their potential then they can ride the bench the rest of the season as the underclassman look to get some valuable playing time and begin auditioning for starting spots next year.
The rumor mill is buzzing with nominees that will take over the offensive and defensive co-ordinator positions, but Coach Slick not let on to any canidates he has in mind. The rumors are that Coach Slick on offense will look to move from a pro style attack, has run Texas A&M offense the last 5yrs, to a mulitple or spread attack. OCs from LSU, Clemson, Arizonia, and Michigan have all been rumored to have been contacted. On the defensive side of the ball it appears that The Horns' will move away from their 4-3 scheme to either a 3-4 or multiple. Coach Slick stating "That in todays game of spread and air raid attacks your defense needs to be fast and adaptable on the fly."
As of this week the down year has not hurt Texas on the recruiting front. Texas is ranked has having the #2 recruiting class bringing to Austin the #1 HB, #1 OLB, #1 & #2 QBs. Adding to the rumor mill that an offensive scheme change to a spread attack was in the making even before the disappointing season is that Coach Slick also signed the #2 rated scrambling QB.
Coach Slick will take over both the offensive and defensive play calling the rest of the season.

"When you play football at the University of Texas it is EXPECTED that you contend for a National Championship every year." - Coach Slick

Nice writeup Slick. It has also been a down year for Ohio State in terms of meeting expectations. We are hoping to rebound against Nebraska in week 14 to salvage the season.
