Buckeye Recruiting Report - Week 5 With a third of the season in the books, the Bucks have picked up and early and unexpected loss, but they have been winning on the recruiting trail. Title hopes might be in danger in Columbus, but future titles seem to be a bit more likely, especially after a Wisconsin game that saw four top recruits come to town, and then saw all four sign on the dotted line. Coach Griffin is pretty excited about how the class has started out, and so are the sports writers, who have ranked the Bucks #1 in their first poll of the season. Coach Griffin, when asked about the poll, simply grinned. Anyone who knows the coach knows that he rarely boasts or brags, so when he simply said "You guys ain't seen nothin' yet," the press room at the 'Shoe went quiet for a moment, and then erupted into a storm of questions that Coach simply waved off as he left the podium and returned to practice. Among the names getting a lot of attention are five star QB prospect Kyle Miller and top WR prospect Drew Booth. Miller is said to have the same kind of elusiveness as OSU's present Miller (no relation, of course), though his accuracy has been the subject of questions. WR Drew Booth, who is said to have the best hands in this class, answered on of those questions by saying "Doesn't matter. All he has to do is get it close. I'll take care of the rest."
Buckeye Recruiting Report - Week 5: Still Number One The Bucks picked up two more impressive recruits this week, signing Ohio's top defensive recruit, MLB David Bryan (#1 MLB, #43 OVR), and also signing one of the top safeties in North Carolina's Joe Bryant (#3 SS, #126 OVR). When asked to give his opinions of the two, coach kept things simple. On MLB David Bryan: "That kid hits hard ... really hard." When asked the same of SS Joe Bryant, he said " ... hits like David Bryan ... runs like someone a lot faster than David Bryan." With Ohio State's young defense likely to return most of their starters, it's unlikely that these two will see action early, but it's hard to envision a future that doesn't see each of these guys playing major roles.
