The Cincinnati Bearcat Insider BEARCAT'S KNOCK OFF USF IN THRILLER #21 Cincinnati - 28 #13 USF - 21 Tampa, Fla. - Isiah Pead ran for 125 yards and two tuchdowns while the Cincinnati defense did not allow a single USF third down conversion as the Bearcats hung on to upset USF 28-21 in a key early season Big East showdown between the two top-25 ranked teams. After scoring 14 unanswered points, Cincinnati gave up its first touchdown of the game before junior running back Darin Williams broke free on a 69 yard scamper to put Cincy up 21-7. However, USF would answer back with a touchdown of their own followed by an interception of a Zach Collaros throw that was intended for DJ Woods which resulted in another South Florida touchdown, evening the score at 21-21 late in the fourth quarter. The Bearcats had one more long drive in them and proceeded to march down the field in a 11 play drive that was finished off with Pead's second score of the day with 20 seconds left to play to give Cincinnati a 28-21 lead. Despite returning the ensuing kickoff to their own 40, USF was unable to tie the game. JK Schiffer paced the Bearcat defense with three sacks.
