    The Deuce 2011

I'm still working on getting everything setup for TF for the launch of NCAA 2011 and I kind have been neglecting my own league. I apologize.

So with that let's see what sort of direction we want to take with the new game. Please vote for your preferred setup.

    Conferences:
    Option Qty Choices
    1 3 Pac-10, Big Ten, Big East
2 3 Big XII, ACC, SEC
    3 2 Pac-10, Big Ten
    4 2 Big XII, SEC
    5 2 Big XII, ACC
    6 2 ACC, SEC
7 2 Big Ten, Big East
    8 2 Pac-10, Big East

    Type of Teams:
    1. Powerhouses
    2. Rebuilders
    3. Mix
    4. Mix based on records (i.e. Lawdog can't choose Ohio State, etc)

    Team Selection:
    1. Record (worst chooses first)
    2. Record (best chooses first)
    3. Random selection order

This ought to give us a good place to start from. Let's see it.

Option 2 - Like the 3 conference setup, and Im sure it would make sched. easy.

Option 2 or 4 - Rebuilders or based on record, the more competition the better

Option 3 -Lets do it by overall record, worst to first, or random, does not really matter...

They were a 6 star program this year, so at the worst they will be a 5, I would say rebuilers should be around 3 at the best...

It will depend on the conferences that we choose. The "rebuilders" will likely be relative to the other teams in the conferences.

Are you a fan of the two or three conference setup?

Just trying to get this initial input from you guys so we can narrow it down...

How would the three conference set up work? Im assuming 4 teams for each conference, and two in each division?

If so I like Option 2 because of conference championship. You could have a team in the Pac-10,Big 10 or Big East win the conference and only play one user game. With the conference title it guarantees two conference games, and possibly more.

    2) Mix, though within reason I don't think two people should have UGA and FL while everyone else is Vandy and Temple. My thought is we either have a limit (i.e. 4 stars) or make it where if some body picks a 1 star program that anyone else in that conference can only pick 3 star teams.

    3) Random

Yeah, the conference would be balanced as much as possible. Two in each division.

I think we will call this the OMlawdog Fighting Illini Four National Championships in a row rule.

    or

Lawdog's cheap ass way to win four titles in a row rule

    or

Because Illinois wasn't that good rule and yet that punk Lawdog won 4 titles in a row rule.

As long as the rule has 4 titles in a row somewhere in there, Im good.

Hey guys, I saw this thread and wanted to offer some advice. You may already know this stuff, but it can't hurt to give some input.

In SE, we're currently running the 2 conference setup (ACC vs SEC). It's fun in that all the teams are located together and you get good recruiting battles. The biggest problem with it is creating schedules. Because you have the rotations of the conference schedules, it gets extremely difficult to give everyone the same number of user vs user games. With only 2 conferences, you only have one conference from which you can play out of conference games and that can create a headache.

I think 3 is the best way to go as it gives more flexibility in scheduling and out of conference matchups. Plus, you get 4 teams in three conferences which is very balanced, but that's just been my expereince with `10.

We ran a custom two conference setup this year. It was a scheduling nightmare.

With 3 conferences, we would have 2 people in each division, do you think that would give the computer a better chance of winning?

Two conferences would allow for more rivalries in the conferences though.

    I'm torn.

I do like the random selection of teams though. Is it possible to do that online?

i am feeling 3 conferences with 4 users in each conference, with 2 users in each division.... while pretty much each year someone could potentially have a gripe...... but shit happens......

I think he means random order of selection, not random teams.

Yeah, it's random order of selection.
