69-28 and a 17 game lead in the division. Fuck a farm system... I'll trade prospects all day long for known commodities that help me win now.
Taking a look at players in the Red Sox organization, it appears we have a few guys that could be up with the big club next year. First and foremost is Mike "Gee Gee" Russell, Gee Gee has just about maxed up his ratings and has been playing extremely well at Single A Greenville, Gee Gee is gonna be moving up to AA where he will probably finish the season depending on how he performs. Look for Gee Gee to get a shot next year with Boston in what could be a make or break year for us. In the last year Russell has progressed pretty nicely and defensively he has improved at SS, with Troy Thompson and Stelios Sparta in front of him it looks like Russell might be blocked for right now. Russell should get the shot next year to win the job. Next we have a huge pleasant surprise in Mike Venafro, he literally came out of no where this year and has developed extremely quickly. Looking at his development below he just literally exploded this year. We are hoping that the big tall righty at 6'7 Venafro looks to get to AA this year and could be fighting for a roster spot in the rotation next year. Absolutely hoping this guy maxes or gets close to maxing his ratings and can go for the big club next year. Our first round draft pick Kenny "Boxy" Moore is starting out at Single A and were hoping he develops quick, he had a slight develop already so we are looking for big things from Boxy, or Boxy could be used to acquire a big time starting pitcher or bat to help the over .500 push we have going on this year. Moore has started out okay, and were hoping for big things from the lefty. Turkey Mike is the next person we will take a look at, Hanus can hit the ball and throw the ball but we are trying to develop him as a pitcher. Hanus has been moved up to AA and has a good chance of making the MLB squad next year in a pinch, otherwise we will give him one more year to develop. A lot depends on if we are over .500 this year or not. Sekeras pitched extremely well at single A this year, so we moved him up to Double A and according to his progress he is doing well and we are hoping he continues to do really well and progresses. Diego Martinez, after the trade of Bob Bates was fully ready to go which made Bates expendable and now Martinez is settling in to the set up man job in the 8th, it allows Joe Williams to be the middle reliever and Francisco Rodriguez is pitching in the 7th who has been arguably the best relief pitcher this season and deserves to be an all-star. Martinez came out of the draft as a starting pitcher, but lost his stamina, however it has worked out as he is going to be a dominate set up and closer with Cole Douglas. Martinez has had some injury issues in his career but we are hoping this are behind him and he continues to be lights out for a solid bullpen in Boston. Christian Hines is a lefty closer currently and looks that he could be another young stud arm in the bullpen that is in the Red Sox organization. Hines looks like he could be in line with a chance to get into the bullpen next year. It'll be nice to have another lefty arm in the bullpen in the future or could be a good trade chip in a deal to upgrade something if we need it. Last but certainly not least is "Swede" Bowling, we just recently acquired him in the deal for the dead body of Trevor Bauer from the Mets. Bowling looks like he could be a good middle of the rotation pitcher, we are hoping a change of scenery helps Bowling and gets him on track to be a top flight ace for the Red Sox of the future. Bowling was a former top of the draft pick and we are hoping that Bowling can find a spot in the years to come or could be dealt in a deal for a much needed upgrade for Boston. Bowling if he continues on this pace could be on the major league roster next year and fighting it out for a spot in the rotation at spring training.

Where Are They Now? 2021 Top 5 Hitters & Pitchers # = Rank out of the top 100 (March 2, 2025) Hitters ==================================== ==================================== ==================================== ==================================== ==================================== ==================================== This was a pretty stud class with Barnes and Paez leading the way. Luis Ramos hit an injury and often plagued Arizona players he never recouped and came back. Chicago White Sox dominate both the hitters and pitchers of this year as Chris Campbell would find his way over to Chicago. On their careers right now, here is how I rank them: 1) Barnes, 2) Paez, 3) Campbell, 4) McMillan and 5) Ramos. At the end of their careers, it could certainly look like this: 1) Paez, 2) Barnes, 3) Campbell, 4) McMillan, and of course 5) Ramos. ==================================== Pitchers ==================================== ==================================== ==================================== ==================================== ==================================== ==================================== The pitchers were beast, just under being studly as I think 3.5 of them hit. Romero and Hamilton are the head of the class and right behind them is Walker who has to live in Romero's shadow. Bryant (CLE) never reached his potential and converted into a relief pitcher. Tyson had control issues and after sustaining an injury in Atlanta, he couldn't locate as effectively as when the scouts gave their reports. I would rank these guys: 1) Romero, 2) Hamilton, 3) Walker, 4) Bland and 5) Bryant and when they end their careers, pretty much at the same position. Maybe Walker matches Romero and over takes Hamilton and they flip flop. ====================================
Looking back on the first page, 2020 looked to be about the same as 2021. Dang I wished I would have thought of this when we started and also not slacked off in between 2022 and 2027
