Pepe had a pretty ok first sim. We'll see how he does these next couple of months, as of right now the plan is to bring him up in July.
It's pretty complicated, let me see if I can give you a quick/simple answer. Essentially, players have three years of minimum deals before they are eligible for arbitration. "Super 2" players are eligible for arbitration before 3 years. In order for you to be considered a "Super 2" player, however, you need to 1) Have less than 3 years service time, but more than 2 and 2) rank within the top 22% of all 2-year players in terms of service time. There is no way of really knowing when to bring someone up as to avoid being in the top 22% of PT, but mid-July is generally a safe time to call them up. Make sense?
I think its time to depress some people. After clearing waivers, Adrian Price accepted an assignment down to AAA Columbus. That's right folks, a 16 million dollar player is hacking it in the minors!!
Lynwood Abbott is also spending his final year down there on a $19M salary! He's on his 3rd year at AAA Gwinnett.
These examples just gave me an idea. Dru50 Bondzai wouldn't you say these two guys could be charter members of The Dugout's Cut Dem Checks club?!
2031 Top 10 Hitters & Pitchers # = Rank out of the top 100 (May 1, 2025) Hitters Garcia: Angels Ferguson: White Sox Pitchers McCoy: Dodgers Mitchell: White Sox Ybarra: White Sox
Noticed that the other day when it said my AAA team was 16 games over .500 but still in 4th place. Crazy
Tigers RF Nick Wright (#9 ranked Prospect as of 5/1) was called up to begin this year and has started all 120 games thus far (watch him get hurt now ). He got off to a real cold start hitting .191 in April but has come along great since. He leads the team in home runs which has been something this organization has struggled with for years.
