I've got this set up through Yahoo (just like our Brackets). It's set to pick the top 20 "most interesting games according to Yahoo". Hopefully this is satisfactory. Masler can you sticky this guy?

All you do is go to YahooSports and go to the Fantasy Tab and find College Football Pick'em. Then click "Join Group".

    The group is 14136
    The password is TheE

If you're in, you gotta get your first sheet done by Friday 5 minutes before the NC St @ Tennessee game (game starts at 4:30 so 4:25). Get er done!

Are we picking against a spread? Is that what the numbers under the "Monday" column mean?
    pickem.JPG

Am I just saying that ND will beat Navy, or does ND need to win by 17 for me to be correct? Also, if these are against a spread and I pick MSU and MSU wins by 7, did I win or lose (IE. does MSU need to win by 7 or more, or do they need to win by more than 7)?

I'm pretty sure i have it just straight up winners. I'll recheck it though.

EDIT: It was picking against the Spread. Do we wanna do that or Straight Up? I thought we were going to Yahoo BECAUSE we just wanted to do it straight up.

That's what I'd like, but if so, then what are the numbers on the right in the SS above?

Also, what is "(spread)" in the pic below from the bottom of the team selection screen?

Yeah too confusing for my blood. Straight up seems easiest. Also very excited the Arizona/Toledo game is up there ;)

How are you in your late thirties, a football fan and a man and NOT understand point spreads?

The (spread) refers to how many points the favorite must win by. If its MSU (7) then they must win by 8 or more for you to win. Conversely, if you take Boise you get 7 points. Example, MSU 21 Boise 17 and you took Boise you win. Got it?

What about the ones that said (0) like the Va Tech/GT game? Is it just straight up?

I'm guessing there's an injury because it says OFF as in Off The Board.

I got it except for where you contradicted yourself in bold above. First you say that they must win by that much, then you say they need 8. Assuming your most recent statement is correct, then it sounds like the spread (if a whole number) is 1 point less than what they need to win by. Is that correct?

Sure, if that's how you look at it. The spread is 7. The favorite must win by 8, the dog can lose by 7.

Only partially correct. If the game is decided by 7 then it's a push. If you had wagered you would get your money back. In a pick 'em, it would go down as a draw or tie.

I love picking ATS instead of straight up, but if you pansies are scared then we can do straight up.

We've already picked against the spread. You better hurry up and get your picks in!

I thought that was on a case by case basis, some bookies push while others play it straight. I could be wrong too.

That's how Vegas and online places handle it. I am sure there are some bookies that keep it.

The picks are due by Friday right? If so, I should be able to do it when I get back.

Do we wanna do spread? Jello is the only one who voiced no and I don't care either way.

Without the spread, is there any reason to not pick the favorite? Over the course of the season won't I be way ahead?
