I'm excited about learning/playing TCU football. This thread is about putting anything that interests you about your team as of right now, sitting just under a month away from release. I don't expect team previews or any long detailed write-ups, just add your quick bits about your school that you want to share (y)

The first thing I noticed about getting started with the Horned Frogs is my schedule. Talk about exciting! I get the challenge of facing this year's top 3 guys. Here is what my four week stretch looks like:

    Week 3 - Virginia dakota7
    Week 4 - @ SMU jello1717 (Rival)
    Week 5 - Iowa State
Week 6 - @ Baylor blLL flo (Rival)

I wouldn't have it any other way. I know these guys can handle the sticks and this well have a big impact on how my program does for the rest of the OD. I was hesitant about taking a :5stars: program but since it was available and kept team selection more open I ran with it. I feels good knowing that even though I have the advantage here, I will be battling jello and bill with 2 conference rivals throughout the course of this next year (y)

    First Season - 1896
Stadium - Amon G. Carter Stadium. Capacity 45,000. Field is grass. Just redeveloped this season. Have a look
    Location - Fort Worth, TX
    All time Record - 591-516-53
    Bowl Record - 13-14-1
    National Titles - 1* (1938)
    Heisman winners - 1
    Consensus All Americans - 15
The * - The AP didn't award NC until 1936. In 1935, #1 TCU had one defeat to rival #2 SMU in the "Game of the Century". Thank you Wikipedia for learning something new.
    Rivals - SMU (53-31) | Baylor (50-50-7)
Mascot - BDMITL. The Super Frog

Uniforms - Little upset that I didn't know new unis were in store for this season. Liked the 2011 ones. The stencil numbers are a +

Sorry to bust your bubble but the schedule will change due to adding 4 teams.

But I'd be more than happy to host TCU.

Why? For Masler to give himself more work? The only first season changes should be adding more conference user games

Are we playing 8 or 9 conference games?

I'm talking about the in conference games.

Adding more users makes the conference schedule fuck up. Baylor won't be in your division so playing them may be later than normal, SMU may be later. Just the timing will be different

What UofC said. Changing the conference completely changes the schedule. In '12, when I moved USC to the North division, it changed my game against Arizona which should've been a home game to an away game for the 2nd year in a row.

That depends on whether or not we use protected rivals. Masler has no direct control of that. He only has indirect control by setting the conference size and protect rivals on or off. There was a post in '12 where Ben listed how many conference games each combo would play, but I couldn't find it.

I can control which rivals though I think. I think 8 is still a good number, everyone has the potential for 9.

Masler, I popped in '12 and checked this out. For a 14 team conference WITH protected rivals there are 9 conference games. 6 divisional, 1 protected, and 2 cross divisional. We'd play our nonprotected cross divisional opponents 2 out of every 6 years. For a 14 teams conference WITHOUT protected rivals, there's 8 conference games. 6 divisional and 3 cross divisional. We'd play out cross division opponents 2 out of every 5.5 years.

Then I say we do 9 so we at least have the protected rivals that UofCWildcat mentioned.

    Uniforms:
I'm only able to find white pants online, but in '12 they also have red and blue pants and I REALLY hope this carries over to '13.

    Here's their dinky ass stadium:
    [IMG][IMG]
Here's their history blurb from wikipedia:
    First season 1915
    Head coach Jello
Home stadium Gerald J. Ford Stadium
    Year built 1999
    Stadium capacity 32,000
    Stadium surface FieldTurf
    Location Dallas, Texas
Past conferences Southwest Conference, Western Athletic Conference, Conference USA
    All-time record 439–477–54 (.480)
    Postseason bowl record 5–7–1
    Claimed national titles 3
    Conference titles 11
    Heisman winners 1
I new that they were good back when they were buying athletes, but I didn't know that they had ever won a national title, let alone 3! It looks like my first long term goal will be to get the program up to .500. It'll be tough since they're 38 games below .500 right now. Their most famous football alumni (as in the most famous person that most people would know went to SMU) is likely Eric Dickerson. The most famous alumi that most people probably didn't know went to SMU is Doak Walker, for whom the award for the nation's best running back is named. Walker is the only Heisman winner in SMU history.
    Honored jerseys
    17 Don "Dandy Don" Meredith
    19 Eric Dickerson
    37 Doak "The Doaker" Walker
    73 Forrest Gregg
    80 Lamar Hunt
    87 Raymond Berry
    Rivalries
    EDIT:
    I forgot to add:

Isn't Safeway a grocery store? I'm assuming they paid to sponsor.....whereas TCU and SMU decided to go with Iron Skillet.

    Capacity: 50,000
    Location: Waco, TX
    All-time record: 541-539-44 (.501)
    Postseason Bowl Record: 10-8
Conference Titles: 6 (all Southwestern conference titles)
    Heisman Winners: 1
    Mascot: American Black Bear (Bruiser)
    Rivals:
    • TCU (50-50-7)
    • Texas (24-73-4)
    • Texas Tech (33-36-1)

I chose Baylor because I wanted to go with something different this year. I was Clemson in the ACC my first year in the E, so I knew I wanted a Big12 team. It was between the Bears and Texas Tech, and Baylor won out because I repped the black and red with UGA last year. I'm not sure if I will stick with my pro-spread offense, or go RG3 and run a spread-option attack. Can't wait to whip up on Darkwing again and the rest of the Big12 for that matter. I think I was 13-1 vs my opponents in the conference during '12, so lookout for the Bears in '13!

    History
    First Season: 1892
    Head Coach: iBleedOrange247 (Colton)
    Home Stadium: Carter-Finley Stadium
    Capacity: 57,583
    Location: Raleigh, NC
    All-time record: 551–536–55 (.507)
    Postseason Bowl Record: 14-11-1
    Conference Titles: 11
    Mascot: Tamaskan Dog "Tuffy"
    Rivals:
    • Clemson Tigers (27-51-1)
    • Duke Blue Devils (36-40-5)
    • ECU Pirates (16-11-0)
    • North Carolina Tar Heels (32-63-6)
    • South Carolina Gamecocks (26-27-4)
    • Wake Forrest Demon Deacons (62-36-6)

After the firing of Tom O'Brien for undisclosed reasons, the North Carolina State Wolfpack hired a no name coach who won the lottery in 2011. Coach IBO, has coached football for little leagues around the nation, only to be fired after getting drunk and coaching the kids. It's a complete shock to the nation and the fans to have this foul mouthed, bad reputation, drunk, no name, little league coach to get hired to replace a coach who was 33-30 after five seasons, but I guess money talks and the college officials probably are sitting pretty on cash now.

Only ever finishing as a number 11 in 1974, and never finishing in the top 15 since 2002, the NC State Wolfpack are hoping their new coach can come in and bring them national glory, and another (maybe more than just one) conference championship, and a national championship. Coach IBO's work will be cut out for him with the tough competition with Florida State and Virginia each season to make it to the CCG, not to mention the other teams in the Atlantic division.

    Coach's Profile

    TSO Record - 2-8
    NCAA 13 Record - 0 - 0
    Offensive Style - Score!
    Defensive Style - 4-3 / 3-3-5
Recruiting Plan - Speed, and more speed
After Game Plan - Drink, Drink some more, and Drink!

At least that 1 was a huge one and likely more important than any of the other 13!
