    Ooooooklahoma! [IMG]

    All OU all the time!

Oklahoma will be running with their own playbook and a 4-3 defense this year.

We have 15 SR's and two Juniors that will almost assuredly go pro (Bradford, Murray) I will be recruiting in the hope of keeping both, call me a dreamer, call me stupid. I have a few other Juniors that could potentially go pro.

    I'm redshirting several players.
    FB Buck Buchanan
    WR DeJuan Miller
    WR Jaz Reynolds
    TE James Hannah
    RT J. Aladenoye
    DT J. McFarland
    ROLB Ronnell Lewis
    CB Demontre Hurst
    CB Gabe Lynn
    FS Kevin Brent
    SS Javon Harris

    Oklahoma's rivalry games are:

Texas, Texas, Texas, Nebraska, Mizzou (they still play football there?), and Bedlam

I'll start the season with the #2 Coaches ranking and #3 in the media poll.

My continued ranking will be well deserved:

    Oklahoma

    1 - @ LSU Win 30-27 OT
    2 - Florida Win 38-14
    3 - @ West Virginia Win 35-14
    4 - @ Florida State (KnightnBattle10) Loss 3-24
    5 - Bye
    6 - Baylor Win 38-28
    7 - Texas (jmillhimes) Win 49-22
    8 - @ Kansas
    9 - Kansas State
    10 - @ Nebraska
    11 - Texas A&M
    12 - @ Texas Tech
    13 - Oklahoma State

Oklahoma is REALLY looking forward to getting a shot at Florida and CUSA nemisis Natisaint, and blowing up Texas spot!

A national championship is the goal. It's the only goal. I'll have a chance to win it on the field.... starting tonight in Death Valley!

    Week 1 #2 Oklahoma at #5 LSU

    And so it begins!

    #2 Oklahoma 30 @ #5 LSU 27 OT

Oklahoma started their campaign in Death Valley against one of the best defenses in the country, in one of the loudest places on the planet. Even seasoned veteran QB Sam Bradford was rattled by the noise.

This game started out with LSU jumping out to a 10-0 first half lead after a Sam Bradford interception in the endzone and a lightning fast drive by LSU and QB Jordan Jefferson right down the field to score the games first touchdown. Oklahoma came marching back to tie the game at 10-10 with 1 minute left in the first half until Charles Scott broke a 80 yard TD run to take the 17-10 lead going into the half.

    Then the sun went down:

Oklahoma kicked it back to LSU to start the 2nd half and after some back and forth in the 3rd quarter until Sam Bradford connected with Brandon Caleb for a TD to tie the game back at 17-17. Then LSU came back and scored on their next possession, as they had done all game, to take the lead back 24-17. Oklahoma's defense took over in the 4th quarter. After a Travis Lewis Interception at mid field DeMarco Murray absoutely ran over, around, and through the vaunted LSU defense to tie the game at 24. Later in the 4th quarter LSU caughed the ball up, their 2nd and what could have been most devestating turnover again at mid field to give OU the chance to win the game outright!

Oklahoma put Murray to work again, running it right down LSU's throat and killing clock to set up the winning fieldgoal with 3 seconds left. Oklahoma's freshman kicker Tress Way pushed the field off the right upright from about 35 yards out DOINK! going to ot!

OU's defense stepped up again in OT and held LSU, who started with the ball (even though they won the toss?) to a 3 and out and a 42 yard fieldgoal to take the 27-24 lead. The Sooners started their possession with a 20 yard pass to Ryan Broyles to start 1st and goal from the 5. LSU's defense shut them down the next three plays! On fourth down we went for it. Not looking forward to the prospect of a second ot where I would have to start with the ball in Baton Rouge I decided it was either win or lose on this last play.

Bradford hit Brandon Caleb on a 5 yard slant to take the win 30-27!

Offensive Player of the Game Demarco Murray [IMG] 44 att. 147 yards 2 TD

Defensive Player of the Game:Travis Lewis [IMG] 7 Tackles 1 Huge Int.

    Other notable stats

OU had 8 redzone possessions scored 4 TD 1 FG and turned it over twice. That has to get better.

    Sam Bradford 14-23 243 yards 2TD 2 INT
Brandon Caleb 4 catches, 98 yards, 2 TD
Gerald McCoy 7 Tackles, 2 TFL, 1 Sack, 1 FR

Oklahoma improves to 1-0 on the year and looks forward to their home opener vs. Florida next Saturday.

    Week 2 #1 Florida @ #2 Oklahoma

    -Norman Oklahoma

Oklahoma came into this game not sure what to expect but knew they would have to play the perfect game to win. They did just that.

In front of a sold out crowd at Gaylord Memorial Stadium, Oklahoma laid claim to the #1 spot in the country and took the bullseye from Florida and Timothy Richard Tebow with a convincing 38-14 throttling of the #1 Florida Gators.

Things didn't start so well for Oklahoma. After forcing UF to a three and out on the opening drive Oklahoma promptly fumbled the punt. Florida scooped it up and score on their first play from scrimmage at the Ou 10 yard line. Oklahoma would then go on to score 21 unanswered points to end the 1st half! At the half it was 21-7 and Oklahoma was dominating in all phases. Demarco Murray ran wild and Oklahoma's playcalling had a good mix of run and pass, with alot of play action. Basically everything worked.

OU kicked a FG early in the 2nd half to take the 24-7 lead. At that point Tim Tebow had a mini explosion marching Florida down the field in what seemed like 15 seconds to close the gap to 24-14. At that point Sam Bradford and Demarco Murray sealed the deal! Doing what they had done all game they went on to go up 31-14 early in the 4th and Florida, running out of time and chances just started chucking it around which ultimately got them no where. Murray scored another td with a few minutes left in the game while running the clock down to seal the 38-14 victory. The offense played good, the play calling was very good, but the defense really shined. Their zone blitz scheme and heavy pass rush made Tim Tebow look human and showed the world that "He's not a machine, he's a man!" (Rocky 4 for the younger fella's in here :) The running game for Florida was no existant. Jeffrey Demps had 16 carries for 10 yards. tough to beat the #2 team in the #5 hardest place to play without running the ball.

Sam Bradford ended up 13-17 214 2TD 0 picks. Nothing flashy, not good for Heisman positioning, but the perfect stat line to pull the upset. Madu and Broyles each scored a TD.

Demarco Murray however needs some Heisman love! 27 touches, 120 yards, 3 TD. Not big yards but he's scoring the first two weeks like it's going out of style.

Travis Freakin' Lewis was the Defensive MVP again today. 10 tackles, 1 TFL and made some BIG 3rd down stops early in the game to keep Tebow off the field.

All in all I don't know that I've played a better game. Everything clicked...Looking forward to the trip to Morgantown then a Huge trip to Tallahassee to face the Red Hot Seminoles.

    Week 3 #1 Oklahoma @ West Virginia

    Morgantown WV

Ugly, Ugly, Ugly... Once again Milan Puskar Stadium turned into a house of horrors for Coach Castortroy. This game was played under a full moon and it was easy to tell in the first half.

The first half of this game was incredibly boring. The first quarter ended with no score and no offense on either side. Oklahoma finally got on the board in the 2nd quarter on a long td pass from Bradford to Adron Tennell, who was welcomed back this week after sitting out the last two weeks with a twisted ankle he suffered in the LSU game. Noel Devine returned the very next kick for a TD to tie the game up. OU and WV then traded td's again to end the first half and went into the locker room tied at 14.

The 2nd half was a different story. West Virginia RB Noel Devine had lit OU up in the first half but was held in check for the rest of the game. West Virginia had a very hard time gaining an inch in the 2nd half. At the same time Oklahoma went 4 and 5 wide the entire 3rd quarter and scored two td's one a pass from Bradford to Caleb, and one a run my Demarco Murray. Demarco had a very pedestrian day as well, but still found the endzone twice. With the score 28-14 in the fourth quarter Oklahoma pinned the Mountaineers deep in their own territory and on WV first play from their 2 yd line, Jeremy Beal tipped a pass that was caught by Sr. Keenan Clayton for the final TD that put the game out of reach, and was ultimately the last score making it 35-14 Oklahoma.

We ran the clock out the rest of the game and were seen running full speed into the locker room and then onto the bus to get the F*$K out of town!

Adron Tennell was the Offensive Player of the game with 3 catches for 112 yards including a long TD that finally put us on the board in the 2nd qtr.

Keenan Clayton was the Defensive Player of the game with 10 tackles, 2 TFL, and a pick 6. Great game by the defense in the 2nd half.

Next up is a much anticipated trip to Tallahassee to play a very hot Florida State Team.

Sam Bradford finished 19-37 252 yds 2TD and 2 Int
Demarco Murray went 25 carries 64 yds and 2TD
Adron Tennell had 3 rec. 112 yds and 1 TD
Brandon Caleb had 6 grabs 59yds and 1 TD
    8 different Sooners caught passes
    Ryan Reynold had 11 tackles
Keenan Clayton had 10 tackles, 2 for loss, 1 INT and 1 TD

    Week 6 Baylor @ #7 Oklahoma

    Norman OK,

Week 4's game recap was presented by Fear the Spear and there was a bye in week 5 so we resume in week 6.

This one was more than forgettable. Eager to erase the memory of their bitter defeat to the Seminoles, the Sooners came out swinging and missing.....

Baylor at one point in the first half was up 16-7 after a few Oklahoma turnovers and really had us worried. Robert Griffin went all Michael Vick 2005 on us and we just couldn't get them off of the field. Then the tables started to turn and Demarco Murray started to get it going and really picked the Offense up. Bradford and company followed their cue and pulled ahead in the 2nd quarter and never really looked back. This was an ugly, sloppy, turnover filled game that made everyone involved wonder if they could ever get their three hours back.

Demarco Murray had 27 carries for 117 and a TD and he also had 2 catches for 60 yards and another long td on a screen pass.

Jeremy Beal was the Defensive Player of the game with 10 tackles, 5 of them for loss.

Next up is the Red River Shootout in Dallas vs. #2 Texas.

    Week 7 #2 Texas @ #10 Oklahoma.

Last week we had our debacle in Norman, we dropped 3 places for that display. This week the undefeated Longhorns came in looking to extend their winning streak in the series. Things didn't go so well for Texas.

    Oklahoma 49 Texas 22.

Things started poorly for Texas with a pick 6 to Quentin Jackson in the 1st quarter. That was the only score in the first quarter. There were drives by both teams stalled by stingy defenses and other than the pick 6 the first quarter was extremely competitive.

The 2nd quarter is when things took a turn for the worse. Oklahoma scored on a Chris Brown run after Demarco Murray was injured to make it 14-0. Texas came right back and scored to make the score 14-7. Oklahoma scored again to go up 21-7 on a Sam Bradford TD pass to Brandon Caleb then pinned Texas deep in their own territory. Colt Mccoy threw another pick with less than a minute to go and Oklahoma on 3 and long ran up the middle to get into better field goal range to make the score 24-7 going into the half. Texas was called for a facemask that gave Oklahoma a first and goal with 10 seconds left and Oklahoma had time for another play into the endzone and connected for a TD to make the score 28-7. Texas returned the kick and had time for one play. Colt McCoy was hit as he threw the ball and it was returned for a TD to make the score 35-7 to end the first half. At the end of the day this game would've turned out much, much different had it not been for that face mask on the 3rd and long run.

In the 2nd half Texas and OU exchanged TD's to make it 42-14 then Texas scored again and hit a 2 point conversion to make it 42-22 but Oklahoma scored again running on 3rd down early in the 4th quarter to make the score 49-22 and that's eventually where it would end. Oklahoma took a knee and ran with their 3rd and 4th string tailbacks during the 4th quarter to end the game asap.

I just am really curious what would've happened had that facemask not occured and I went into the half up 24-7 or 21-7 if I missed the fieldgoal. Things probably would've turned out much differently.

Sam Bradford taking a knee early in the 4th quarter.

Sam Bradford ended 8-9 with 2TD. (I threw one pass in the 2nd half)
Demarco Murray ended 15-88 with a TD and Chris Brown was 11-46 with a TD.

The Defensive MVP was Quinten Carter with 8 tackles and the pick six.

    Week 8 #6 Oklahoma @ #4 Kansas

This one was never really in question. the Sooners rolled into Lawrence expecting to win and ended up jumping out big in the first half to really take control. The Defense played extremely well limiting Todd Reesing and the high powered Kansas offense to 16 points.

Basically Oklahoma did whatever they wanted on Offense and Kansas had trouble even managing first downs for the majority of the game....The final was 40-16.

The most important aspect of the win was dispatching another team from the ranks of the undefeated and from the top 5.

    Sam Bradford went 19-34 276 2 TD
Demarco Murray had 25 carries for 122 yds and 2 TD
8 different receivers caught a pass

There were several Oklahoma Defenders with 7 tackles. The entire defense gets a game ball.

    Week 9 Kansas St. @ #4 Oklahoma

This one was UGLY from the start for Kansas State. Bill Snyder might re re retire after this one. Kansas State turned it over 5 times and Oklahoma housed 3 of them. This one was over before it started. Just bad football by Kansas St. Oklahoma wins 61-10 and extends their home winning streak to 27 games! Next up is a trip to Lincoln to play the #13 Cornhuskers in what could be a preview of the conference championship game. Really the challenge for the Sooners at this point in the season is to stay focused on the next game no matter the opponent and to not look ahead to Bedlam in 4 weeks against a very very good Oklahoma State team. That game likely will decide the South representative in the Big 12 championship game, and might have national title implications with USC's recent loss.

Sam Bradford 10-20 for 203 yds and 3 td. Landry Jones came in in relief in the 2nd half and was 3-3 for 62 yards and 2 TD's. 5 different receivers caught a TD. Dominique Franks had 4 tackles 2 Int's and a touchdown. Quentin Carter and Travis Lewis had 9 tackles each.

This was the most dominant performance of the Season for Oklahoma. Both sides of the ball are really clicking right now.

    Week 10 #4 OU @ #19 Nebraska.

We got straight ambushed in this one.

    Nebraska 40 - Oklahoma 28.

It wasn't even this close. I brought my D game, got called for what seemed like 20 penalties (was probably closer to 10) and even had a 1st and 47 on what turned out to be my final drive down 6. I had chances to win the game but just couldn't make the plays. Nebraska played about as well as they could possibly play and scored the big upset.

Zack Lee went 13-22 for 307 yards and 2 TD's including several clutch 3rd down conversions in the 3rd qtr. Nebraska piled up 511 yards of total offense against one of the best defenses in the country.

For OU Sam Bradford threw 3 picks and played one of his worst games of the season. The vaunted Oklahoma rushing attack managed 99 yards on 30 carries and as a whole the Sooners just didn't play a good game.

Bad news - Oklahoma is now officially out of the National Championship chase.

    Bad news - I can't save highlights anymore...shit!

Good news - We still control our own destiny in the Big 12 and as long as we win out we will still earn a spot in the Big 12 championship game and should be looking at a Sugar Bowl birth...if we can hold steady.

    Week 11 Texas A & M @ #12 Oklahoma

Oklahoma gets a big rebound win 49-25 over the Aggies.

Oklahoma needed this one after the disappointing game in Lincoln. We jumped on them from the start and never let up. Another Saturday, another 300 yard passer...what the ___ is going on with the secondary??

The story of this game was the offense. Sam Bradford absolutely torched the A & M secondary for 5 TD's, four of them to Sophmore WR RyanBroyles who caught only 4 balls, all for TD's. Demarco Murray pitched in with 150 total yards and 2 scores.

On defense JR Bryant came up big with 14 tackles and Jeremy Beal stepped up with 8 tackles, 5 for loss and 3 sacks.

Next up for the 8-2 Sooners is a trip to Lubbock to face the Red Raiders, then the much anticipated Bedlam game against a very explosive Oklahoma State team in Norman. If we beat Texas Tech as we're expected to, then the Bedlam game will be for a spot in the Big 12 championship game.

Tough break on the Nebraska game man. I don't know what the hell was up with the game for that week. Everyone had a REALLY tough time with their opponents that week so it wasn't just you.

Hopefully you can pull off the tough Bedlam game. That's always a crazy game for Oklahoma in real life so I can only expect it to be like that in the game.
