Virgina Tech, one of the nations top programs, just landed veteran head coach Jeremy Douglas. Douglas is a new up and coming coach who demands the most out of his players. He feels he can take the tools on this hokie team to the next level.

VA Tech has big plans this year. Key players such as Logan Thomas QB, David Wilson RB, and Kyle fuller CB, will have to execute big for Douglas and the rest of the team to be successful. Thus team looks very competitive and very hungry to make noise in the ACC as well as the national stage. As Corso would say, "Watch out sweetheart!", the hokies are coming.

Week 1 is here and we look to get off to a fast start against the yellow jackets of Georgia tech.

We are favored to win this one but it's an extremely important game for coach Douglas.

"We wanna start the season strong in all areas. We need to come to play and handle business in the conference. Georgia Tech is a great program so it won't be easy. We look forward to the challenge"

GA Tech 21 Va Tech 28 Final.

under the bright lights on a beautiful night in Blacksburg, the yellow jackets and hokies did battle!
It was a defensive battle between the two teams in this ACC opener. Both teams forced 3 turnovers and played very good on the defensive side of the ball. Kyshoen Jarret and Antone Exum both had INTs for the hokies. All-American Derrick Hopkins led the way for the defense as he had 12 tackles, 2 for losses.

The offense struggled. Logan Thomas had an average game going 19-42 with 315 yds 3 TDs and 2 Ints. He also had the key throw in the clutch as he bombed a 57 yard bomb to DJ Coles with under a minute to play in a tie game.

Tony Gregory, who had 29 carries for 86 yards and a TD, scored the winning TD with 26 seconds left.

The hokies struggled, but a win is a win.

"We played horrible but we still got the win. We have to improve our offensive attack and take care of the ball. We have a long bye before we play again so you can be sure we will look better in our next contest" said Coach Jeremy Douglas who earned his first career coaching win.

Next game: week 2 at Indiana

The hokies are now 3-0

They seem to have find their groove on offense. The main concern for this team going forward is their defense.

"we gotta improve our defense ASAP to have a chance to compete for a title. This week's practice is going to be tough. We gotta have more stops" said coach Jeremy Douglas.

Logan Thomas had a nice game as he went 29-42 for 412 yds and 4 TDs.
Also, D.Coles had a monster game with 7 grabs for 168 yds and a TD.

the hokies now will prepare for next week as they will be home against bowling green.

On the eve of week 5 let's examine where the hokies stand.

The hokies play host to Cincy this week, a game they are favored to win. This team should do everything right to avoid a let down this week.
