Season Outlook After a tough ending to last season, the Jets are coming into this season with a renewed energy and focus on being a complete team week in and week out. Although we won the AFC East and went on to lose in the AFC Title game, we feel our team needed improvements on both sides of the ball. Too many times last year our team did not fully put it together in all facets of the game and we're hoping to have fixed that for this upcoming season. Which brings us to this season. With additions to our offense and defense, we feel that we have a team that is capable of being a major force in the PMFL this season. With QB Mark Sanchez coming of age the second half of the season added with the progression of our WR and TE's and the addition of mutli-talented Knowshon Moreno, our offense should be more consistent. Defensively, we are still lead by MLB David Harris and CB Darrell Revis. Our CB situation is still up in the air as Antonio Cromartio and Kris Wilson are still fighting for the spot opposite Revis but we feel that both can do the job if called on. We are hoping that we have learned from our mistakes last season and with the progression of some of our young players we are expecting big things from this team. Key Losses RB Shonn Greene - Pro Bowl RB Shonn Greene, was one of the best rushers in the league last season and will sorely be missed but management wanted to go in a different direction and opted for a more complete back. KR/PR Joe Mcknight - Another Pro Bowl talent, Mcknight's gamechanging abililty will also be missed. Management viewed they could easily find a replacement in the draft which then made Mcknight expendable. Key Additions RB Knowshon Moreno - Moreno comes in as a part of the swap with Shonn Greene. Our team was very keen on Moreno after he sliced our defense early last season. We love his ability as a rusher but are more interested in his pass catching ability which will enable him to be on the field all 3 downs and are expecting huge things from him. OLB Clint Sintim - The unknown Clint Sintim comes in to take over for veteran Jason Taylor. Sintim may not seem like a huge addition to most, but our staff loves his versatility. He has very solid pass rushing and run stopping skills but we were more interested in his pass coverage. Last season Tight Ends killed us constantly because they would abuse Jason Taylor and we hope Sintim can remedy that problem. FS/CB Macho Harris - Another unknown, Macho Harris comes in to help solidify the Free Safety position. After numerous attempts to find FS help prior to the draft and unsure about the availability of any of the top Free Safeties at their draft position, the Jets opted to not take a chance and trade for Harris prior to the draft. As with Sintim, we are looking at Harris to help slow down opposing Tight Ends as well as cover wideouts in certain schemes. KR/PR Ashton Wheeler & Zach Lewis - These little known rookies come in with the task of replacing Pro Bowl returner Joe Mcknight. Alot will be all the shoulders of these two as they will be counted on to bring the same game changing ability as Mcknight brought last season. The job is still up in the air but we are hoping that one, if not both will emerge as the lead returner and provide a spark when it is needed. Other additions: MLB Josh Mauga, TE Ed Dickson Our staff is expecting big things from this group and hopefully they can live up to not only our expectations but the fans also.
