    Dear Fellow Croppers:

This is a new idea/concept created by David and begins immediately. In the future, this thread will be used for the following YouTube video submissions:

    1. Touchdown tosses (of any yardage) or pass completions of 25 yards or more from shotgun, whereby the QB drops back no more than the play is designed and steps up into the pocket to make the throw.
    2. Touchdown tosses (of any yardage) or pass completions of 25 yards or more from under center, whereby the QB takes a 3-5 step drop (per design) and steps up into the pocket to make the throw.
    • Why are we doing this?
As one of the leading priemer leagues on TSO, we pride ourselves on continually challenging ourselves to make our playing styles more sim. While a Cropper is significantly more sim than the average lounge player, there's always aspects of our games that can be improved. This thread should motivate and challenge us as a league to improve our passing habits.

    • What's the deal with having to step up into the pocket?
We as a league have talked at length about the importance of taking appropriate/realistic drop-backs in our games. Some of us have become quite good at leaving our thumbs off the sticks and not disrupting the drop back whatsoever. This is great, but David would like to see us take it to the next level. Little is better than seeing a player drop-back realisically, step up into his umbrella of protection, and fire a completion downfield.
    • Are there any perks for submitting videos?
Absolutely. The specifics are still pending, but awards will be handed out to the members who most participate in this thread.

I think this is a cool idea. On every pass play I try and let the CPU handle the drop. Most of my drops are 7 step drops. Once I hit step 7 I really hope to have the ball out. If not then it goes read 2, read 3, and BOOM...sack. I have started to try and step up into the pocket. I find that on most 7 step drops if I set up then there is a DL right there to greet me.

Anyway, I will contribute some vids to this practicum and work on my dropbacks.

David - do you manually control your dropbacks?

I don't think a well-timed, well-executed slip screen gets enough love on this board. They're much harder to pull off in this year's version. If you look closely, you'll see that Steve sent 6 on this play.

Nice play. I used to consider myself fairly effective at executing this play, but not on this version. I find that about 2/10 screen passes will go for a gain. I wish that it worked a little better on this version.

It's definitely harder to pull off this year, especially in user games and vs. fast defenses. When it works, though, it's pretty sweet. This is the "cheap" play Steve got all fired up about. ;-)

I like how your spy stands about 2 yards in front of him and watches him throw the ball.
