    THE Ohio State University Summaries

Well regardless of what has happened to this point in the season the new coaching staff has the Buckeyes back on track. This week they faced a grueling game against a seemingly invincible Notre Dame team and their freak of a running back. With great defensive pressure preventing even the slightest crack for Allen to slip through The Buckeyes got Notre Dame a little out of their comfort zone. But when Dayne Crist dropped back to pass the pressure only got worse. He was barely able to set his feet most of the game in the face of a relentless OSU pass rush. When Crist went out of the game with an injury it definitely didn't help the situation. Notre Dame did get a chance at one last drive with about 90 seconds left but a timely INT by the Buckeye D sealed the game as Pryor and company ran out the clock. The final score OSU 31 ND 24 as The Buckeyes improve to 7-3.

Big 1st win man. Get any highlights?

Looks like the Big Ten Title is now between OSU and Michigan. This should be exciting.

How did you fare overall against Armando Allen? I was looking at the stats and he had some off the board numbers. Like 12 yds per carry prior to you two playing.

Allen was really a non-factor in the game. On the other hand Terrelle Pryor had a fantastic game throwing for over 300 yards. But once we got Notre Dame out of their rhythm by not letting them run the ball they relied on passing to get back in the game. Pressure on the QB caused several sacks and two interceptions which helped keep the game in hand.

Another big win for THE Ohio State University this week as they dominated Illinois from whistle to whistle. These are the kind of game you have to be careful with as they are commonly known as "trap" games. Sandwhiched between a big win over Notre Dame and the showdown next week with hated rival Michigan this game could have been easily overlooked. But the new coaching staff would allow nothing of the sort as the Buckeyes looked like a team on a mission. Behind a well balanced attack led by Terrelle Pryor the OSU offense put up 30 on the Illini. The Buckeye D was stifling. No matter what the Illini tried they were stuffed, sacked, or intercepted. Even when the Illini was able to drive down in the red zone on a drive in the 1st the OSU D came through with a big strip and recovered the fumbled to hold the Illini scoreless. The final score Ohio St. 30 - Illinois 0. The Buckeyes improve to 8-3 and are beginning preparation for their showdown with Michigan next week.

Tough loss for the Buckeyes. The Michigan D was on their game tonight. Terrelle Pryor couldn't handle the pressure that the Wolverines put on. And since the running game was practically non existent Pryor tried to put the team on his shoulders and pass their way to victory but he had no openings and threw three INT's. OSU will regroup and go back to the drawing board and figure out what went wrong on offense. The OSU D performed quite well against Michigan's option attack but got no support from the offense and spent most of the game on the field. Just long enough for Michigan to rack up a TD and two FG's en route to a 13-7 victory for the Wolverines. Tough loss but OSU will be back and stronger than ever for their bowl game and the 2012 season.

Big win for The Buckeyes. The defense started out a little slow and let Vandy drive down inside the 5. The D stopped them for a 4th and 3 but Vandy used a well executed fake FG to strike first and go up 7-0. From their on out it was mostly all Buckeyes. OSU was up 17-7 at the half and went to a more ball control conservative offense in the second half. Vandy did a good job slowing down the run and forcing punts in the second half. OSU was able to put up one more score on a long TD pass by Terrelle Pryor and come away with a 24-7 Outback Bowl victory. Focus now shifts to the off-season and trying to fill the holes for next season and continue to get better as a team.
