    1. Coach GSU, you are coming off a successful season in which you reached the ACC Championship Game. Can FSU win the conference this year?

    2. Is Florida or Miami the biggest rival of this team?

    3. Talk to us about the Ohio State loss. It looks like your team competed hard with the Bucks. What tipped the scales in their favor?

    1. Coach Ego, you shocked the world by taking down #1 Auburn! How did you guys do it?

    2. Is this team capable of competing for an ACC title in year two?

    3. Talk about your upcoming match-up with Wyoming. How do you intend to stop the "Nash-Dash"?

    1. Coach Bruce, comment in the big win over Michigan State. What was the difference between this game and the early struggles the Sonners faced last season?
    2. Honestly, how good is YOUDLAIN? Heisman?
    3. Talk about the new additions to the Big XII in Wyoming and Cincinnati. Can either of these pretenders de-throne BOOMER SOONER?

"Going into last night's game, we were most concerned with Auburn's explosive running game. With Kevin Howard's speed and big-play ability, our game plan was devised to keep him between the tackles. All week long we stressed the importance of discipline to our linebackers. When the counters came, we were ready. If we were going to give up points, Auburn was going to have to work for it. Preventing the big play was essential.

Offensively, we looked to establish the run and attack through the air versus certain looks. While Henry and Wright didn't have big performances on the ground, they ran hard and moved the chains, which helped set up our passing game. We were balanced and efficient.

Most importantly, however, was the fact that we won the turnover battle (3-0). Last season, we lost a few games we should of won due to turnovers. The FSU game last year is just one example. Since then, I've witnessed a lot of maturity in Michael (Aldaine) as a player and leader. Last night was a clear example - he made the right read and delivered the ball where it needed to be. Nothing was forced."

"That remains to be seen. Quite honestly, recruiting is our #1 focus right now here at Virginia. If we're going to consistently complete for conference championships in the ACC, we need more talent, top to bottom. We need play-makers. Right now, we don't have enough.

That said, this team's tough. We have heart. There's absolutely zero quit. I know for a fact that this group is going to leave it all out on the field. When a team has that kind of attitude, you can't count them out. Since I took this job, I've talked to our kids about playing smarter. If we can be the toughest and smartest team on the field every day on gameday, we just might be able to surprise some folks."

"We saw Nash last year, so we know first-hand the type of playmaker he can be. He's hard to bring down in the backfield and in open space, and he's got a better arm than people give him credit for. He makes a lot of big plays for the Cowboys.

But he also has a tendancy to make mistakes. In last year's game, he threw 3 interceptions and also lost a fumble. We'd like to see a repeat of that this year -- and to do that, we'll look to keep Wyoming one dimensional, while showing Nash various looks in an attempt to slow down the passing attack.

Nash gets a lot of the attention in Wyoming - but I feel as though the Cowboy defense is largely underrated. Last season - despite Nash's turnovers - we couldn't generate enough offense to capitalize on the opportunities. This year, with the home crowd, and the improvement of our quarterback and wide receiver play, I'm confident we'll be more effective moving the football. To have a chance, we'll have to be."

    1. Coach Tuco, the Bearcats are ranked #1! Tell us about how excited the program is.
    2. How has the transition been to the Big XII? Can you guys win the conference in year one?
    3. You recently took down Auburn, 21-7. Is the SEC overrated?

    1. Coach Rausa, can you now say that Big Blue has returned to national prominence?
    2. Comment on the big match-up with Sparty in a few weeks. Michigan State seems to be talking quite a bit about this game.
    3. Will you make it two in a row over the hated Buckeyes?

MSU has given up 8 sacks in each of the last two games - and against inferior teams. MSU is going to need to step it up on O line if they are going to compete in Ann Arbor.

    1. Coach Brog, this has not been the season you were hoping for with losses to Oklahoma, Michigan, and Florida. Talk about what happened in those losses?
    2. Is there anything positive that Sparty can take away from this season?
    3. Talk to us about how recruiting is going. Is MSU going to maintain its dominance over the Big Ten and be able to go into Florida and Texas and pick off the big play speed guys? Some have said that your recruiting operation is spread to thin. Is that really the case?

Thanks Erin (and thanks again for the other night). Yes - the losses have taken their toll on our program. The speculation comes with the lack of success on the field and we're doing our best to right the ship. The key thing that happened to us in those games is getting away from our game plan. Quite frankly, our offensive line is the key to our success and they've had a rough year. We aim to run the ball, control the clock and protect the football. When we fail to produce on the ground on 1st and 2nd down, we have to rely on the passing game to keep our guys on the field. Due to the suspect play of our line, our QB hasn't been able to get those throws away before he gets pummeled and thrown to the turf.

    2. Is there anything positive that Sparty can take away from this season?

Well - our goal every year is to win the Big Ten and compete for a national title. The losses we've had have put us well outside the title race and (for all practical purposes) out of contention for another Big Ten title. With that, we've had to adjust and define some new goals for the team. Our focus right now is winning the remainder of our games and trying to sneak into a BCS game. If we can do that, we believe we can restore some of our national prestige and build up momentum heading into the off-season and next season.

    3. Talk to us about how recruiting is going. Is MSU going to maintain its dominance over the Big Ten and be able to go into Florida and Texas and pick off the big play speed guys? Some have said that your recruiting operation is spread to thin. Is that really the case?

I'm not sure where your sources are getting their information, but the MSU recruiting efforts are doing very well. We did lose a couple battles with OU and Michigan for guys we wanted in East Lansing, but we also won battles with those same programs for guys we had to have. Our pipelines into Texas, California and Florida continue to thrive and we're working hard to maintain our other seven (that's right - 10 all together) pipeline states. Our recruiting reach is so broad that we nearly lost the state of Michigan as a pipeline this season.

We knew we had a small class this year with only 15 spots to fill. We got star talent coming in at WR and HB (to secure the future speed of the Spartan program) and several other future NFL prospects to fill in the depth on the roster. We have 9 of the 15 spots filled and are looking forward to rounding out the remaining spots in the post-season.

Our strategy has been (and will always be) to focus our efforts on the guys we really want in East Lansing. We focus on quality over quantity and we believe that strategy is serving us well.
