The Steelers weren't expecting to lose wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery to Free Agency, but the Carolina Panthers offer him a two year deal , 5 million contract. I believe the Steelers will use their 1st pick in the upcoming draft and select Odell Beckham (WR) from LSU.
CaptMoe ... Cowboys up man! Bridgewater still available?! ... Pick due by 10AM/ET ... Gonna have to try and speed it up a little with only 2 days left! We WILL get through it though!
With OT Zach Martin, FS HaHa Clinton-Dix, and DT Aaron Donald all off of the board already; this may be worst case scenario for the Cowboys. The next best DT is Timmy Jernigan, but he's dropped into a lot of people's 2nd round, in part to a "diluted sample" drug test at the Combine. The Cowboys' Jerry Jones has said that they are in "win now" mode, so I don't see them taking Teddy Bridgewater here. They could go next best OT available in Morgan Moses, but they need an athletic defender, IMO. And with no 1st round valuable DT available here, and the Cowboys woeful secondary the last year or two, I say the Cowboys go: FS Calvin Pryor - Louisville Josh Barnes ... Ravens up man!
Honestly I was debating between Anthony Barr and Pryor. I think they'll grab Jernigan in the 2nd. But outside of Dix and Pryor there's a drop off at Safety a little bit. Draft is much deeper on the d-line on lb than at the S position.
Very true, I'm afraid the Packers are going to get stuck with Jimmie Ward because Pryor and Dix will be gone. Although I've seen some predictions they would take Terrance Brooks in the 3rd round
With the 17th pick in the 2014 NFL Quality Simulation League mock draft, the Baltimore Ravens select: Ohio State LB Ryan Shazier. Although the team needs an upgrade on the offensive line as well as in the secondary in particular at safety there simply isn't a good value pick at either of those positions at this pick. We debated on taking Barr to become a pass rushing olb due to Suggs age and contract, but we feel like Shazier can be a do it all MLB in our 3-4 scheme. He can make plays sideline to sideline and is a viable option in coverage. Plus, the team is looking for someone to fill the void left by recently retired Ray Lewis. klaximilian and the New York Jets are now on the clock...
As a Cowboys fan, I really don't think the will go with Pryor or Dix. The team honestly seems content with the options currently on the roster, and are expecting nice things from Wilcox. If the draft falls as this one did, I think they would go with Barr to help add to the pass rush.
Shocker with Shazier over Barr considering Suggs won't be around forever and they just drafted Arthur Brown last year. Though i am unsure how much faith they have in Brown
Yea, Shazier has been flying up people's boards as of late; but I'm surprised he was taken before Barr in our draft as well. I know a few Saints fans that hope Shazier lasts to our pick. I hope not though, I'm not a big fan.
It was a tough call for me between those two for exaclty those reasons. I went with Shazier although considered somewhat undersized by some due to the question marks with Brown and the fact I think he could contribute to the defense right away and potentially by a cornerstone in the middle. I wouldn't be shocked if they went that with Barr if presented with the opportunity though. I've also seen them selecting Moses the OT from Virginia in some mocks, but I think its a little too rich at 17 based on his inconsistency.
With the 18th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft (Fans: whaaaaaat) the NY Jets select: Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon St. It was an easy pick for me. I absolutely love Cooks and his upside. Geno gets his "Tavon Austin" type receiver back that he sorely missed when he was drafted by the Jets and their inept offensive talent last season. Cooks can play outside or slot for the Jets, and has the speed to take the top off the defense. He's also a refined route runner and as slippery as they come after the catch. Cooks falling to the Jets at 18 is exactly what I had hoped for. DJDunn6 LolPhins on the cock.....excuse me, ON THE CLOCK.
They'll be thrilled if he falls to them! Good pick. Just have to hope no one jumps up to get him! Great fit for both parties though.
If anything I expect someone to jump the Jets to snag ODB, not Cooks. But I'm expecting tomorrow's draft to be unpredictable and full of surprises, so who the hell knows...
Miami selects Austin Sefarian- Jenkins TE from Washington. Need a true vertical TE tgat they thought they had last year before Keller tore his acl. Tanne has deep accuracy issues and could use a check down security blanket.
Woooww, we have our first true QSF draft SHOCKER! Sefarin-Jenkins taken before Eric Ebron! NY Music Hall, or wherever they hold this thing, goes nuts! Ebron, who attended the draft, is sitting back in the green room still eating peanuts that are starting to stale with Teddy Bridgewater! Miki1369 ... cards up bruh! Do they still have the faith in Carson, or did Teddy just fall into their laps unexpectedly?!
Nice pick ThaBayouChef I think there is a chance you might have stole Baltimore's pick Nice Pick...I think this has a good chance of being the actual pick...I like this kid
Perfect fit for him, I like it! Dont think he should start the season, maybe sit a year or half the year under Palmer. But could be the steal of the draft come a year or two. CSteud ... Pack up!
Sorry bro. I've been dealing with my wife in the hospital and having to take care of my girls and work and church and, you get the picture. Dallas writers seem to think best available WR though because of the young safeties on the roster already (JJ Wilcox, Heath and Johnson)...
1 hour pick limit for the remaining picks today! CHUNKNESS ... would you like to pick for the Pack here??
