Depending on what side of the ball you're on, what recruit do you feel can help you succeed the most?

Well, I guess I'll have to go first. Normally, I would say the quarterback position is what I need the most but since I am the defensive coordinator down at Louisiana Tech, I'll have to pick another option. I am torn between the middle linebacker position and safety. Both can be "coaches" on the field. Since I have to choose, I'll go with a strong, quick and smart middle linebacker. Tough enough to stop the run while possessing the ability to make plays in coverage. That's the "dream" player at that particular position for our program to take a step in the right direction.

I'm going to strengthen up that defensive front 7 and look for a good safety to protect over the top. Really wanna look at the roster tho...

Like Bama said in his radio show, I need Defense. When you are ranked only two spots above Penn State and below Hawaii in total defense, you know that you need help in that area.

True. I didn't include the rankings though. PSU was 44th in the nation. Like you said, not too bad considering Auburn was 53rd.

Oh ok...I just assumed it was real low. 44 is nothing to boast about, but not bad.

I took a gander at the Rice 2011 Recruiting Class and these are the prospects I am most looking forward to seeing develop.

:3stars:ATH Julius White - Sugar Land, TX
    HT: 5' 10" WT: 184 LBs 40: 4.5

Played in a triple option offense in high school where he mainly ran the ball. Has ok touch on his passes, but still has work to do if he wants to play QB. Depending on his ratings coming in, he will either be HB or QB...has the ability to play both.

:3stars:QB Driphus Jackson - Cedar Hill, TX
    HT: 6' 0" WT: 195 LBs 40: 4.6

Better passer than White, but can also run the ball and get away from pressure. He can really hurl the ball with decent accuracy. Could definitely start at QB in the future for the Owls.

:3stars:TE Grant Peterson - Austin, TX
    HT: 6' 5" WT: 226 LBs 40: 4.6

Played WR in high school, but recruited as a TE. Has great size and will be a very good redzone threat. Has good hands and can run through tackles. Really looking forward to this kid.

    Other Prospects:
    :3stars:DE Justin Booth: 6' 6" 253 LBs 4.8
    :3stars:WR Lovett Gibson: 6' 2" 185 LBs 4.4
    :3stars:DT Christian Covington: 6' 3" 285 LBs 5.0
