    The Redshirts: League Description

The Redshirts is one of Tradition Football's most active Premier League Dynasties. Started with NCAA 11, our core group is one of the most sim, passionate and close knit on the entire site. Our current setup places users in the Big Ten and the Pac-12. Each conference is split amongst six users to ensure competition for conference titles.

Our goal is to provide the ultimate College Football experience. We have a set of rules which are listed below to ensure that our members are playing the game like you would see on a Saturday afternoon ("sim"). We have a wealth of historical information and statistics, user voted awards as well as a very active and in depth community. The Redshirts is not about just playing the game. We are about friendships, rivalries and creating as in depth an experience as possible. We want to try to bring your team, your conference and the NCAA to life as much as possible.

    Game Play Rules:

Tradition Football has a code of conduct which everyone should be familiar with in their gameplay. If you have not read over this please go http://forums.traditionsportsonline.com/threads/tradition-rules-and-general-expectations.1161/.

In addition to the rules in the link the following rules apply:

    • There is a scoring cap of 70 points in a blowout. If you exceed this your team will be hit with sanctions.
    • If ahead by 28 points or more in the 2nd half, you must bench your starting offense
    • If ahead by 40 or more in the 1st half, you must bench your starting offense
    • If you have a restart you will be penalized with the loss of 33% of your scholarships for next season. The burden of proof is on you to show why there was a restart.
    • 4th down rules which override the site's rules:
    1. You can go for it on 4th down on any distance on your opponents side of the field unless it falls in the below categories.
    2. If you are winning by 21 or more you cannot go for it on 4th down at any time.
    3. If losing by 21 or more, you can go for it on your side of the field if 4th and 1 or less.
    4. In the 4th quarter if down by 14 or more you can go for it at any time.
Gameplanning is allowed except the following:

    • Run Commit
    • Jump Snap
    • Strip the Ball
    Editing Players:

Editing of Height and Weight of players is not allowed. You may edit appearance and "gear" only.

    NCAA Sanctions:

Breaking of any of the league rules will result in suspension of player(s) from the offenders' team. The first infraction will be a 4 game suspension, additional infractions will be increased by 2 games.

    Recruiting Rules:

We are currently using Heisman recruiting with a cap of 2 :5stars: per season. The winner of the Coach of the Year is allowed an additional :5stars: recruit for the next season.

    Players Leaving:

The following players cannot be convinced to stay during the offseason if they want to enter the draft:

    • is > 95 OVR
    • is a JR that has won the Heisman
    • is a JR and has won a major award (Thorpe, Maxwell, Biletnikoff, etc) and is > 90 OVR
Kickers and punters can be swayed from pro draft regardless of OVR and class.

    Offseason

The offseason will be conducted in one night that works best for the majority of the dynasty. This does not include the preseason.

    Playbooks:

Prior to the season each team must post the offensive and defensive playbooks they will be using. They must use these same playbooks the entire season. Custom Playbooks are allowed, but they must contain plays of a similar style: Spread, Ace, Pro, etc.

    Position Changes:

    Dynasty Wire:

With the release of NCAA 11, came the introduction of the dynasty wire. I highly suggest everyone become registered and utilize this functionality. You can do recruting online, as well as write articles for the league.

Please go here to find out all about it.

    Scheduling and Advancement Schedule:

We will advance the league every 48 hours approximately 10 PM EST. This is a hard advance with NO exceptions. Always recruit before you play your game! If you have played your game, I am assuming that you have recruited and will count you as ready. If you have a bye and all players who had a game have finished we will advance. So make sure you recruit ASAP when you have a bye.

Each team will have at the minimum 4 head to head game scheduled each season. It is your responsibility to check your schedule, and plan accordingly. Be proactive and contact your opponent for a good time for you to play your games. I suggest adding each coach's gamertag to your friends list.

    Community:

We want this league to not only be a place for competitive play and to represent your favorite team, but also a community. Headsets are recommended for head to head play (not required) so that you can get to know the other members of the dynasty.

Writing of articles either here on the website, or the dynasty wire is always the best way to add more "life" to the league. So please utilize these features if you can. In addition, each coach will have mandatory content they must contribute. There will be a 1 content piece requirement for each season for each coach. Game recaps are required for all games, and user games require more than a small paragraph.

    Mandatory Voting:

As mentioned in the league description we want to provide the best experience as possible and one of the most active leagues on Tradition Football. There will periodically be mandatory voting that is required. The most noteable of which is the Coach of the Year. Failure to vote is grounds for immediate removal from the league due to lack of participation.

    How To's:

    How to upload videos:

    How to broadcast on Justin.Tv

    How to post a screenshot

So you fuckers wanted to know how to post images etc? Well you got it.

First thing you need to do is kick yourself in the nuts if you don't have Windows Vista or Windows 7.

If you don't, you'll have to take screenshots with alt+print screen (its a key on your keyboard ususally up in the top right)

So to do this there will be 3 elements.
    1)The screenshot
    2)Hosting the screenshot
    3)Posting the screenshot

    First the screenshot
As I mentioned, if you dont have Windows Vista or Windows 7, kick yourself in the nuts and use alt+printscreen to take screenshots. To do this just open up the browser window you want to take a screenshot of and hit the alt key then while its down hit printscreen then let go of both. This copies that image to your clipboard. Then all you do is open up mspaint and paste your screenshot in there. Just crop off the edges and save your screenshot, you're good to move on to step 2.

Now if you don't have to kick yourself in the nuts, its a bit simpler. Hit start, in the little search bar type snipping tool. Click on it to open up and you'll see it open and theres a button called new in the top left. Once you have whatever you want to take a screenshot of up in your browser go back to snipping tool and hit new. Everything will sort of fade out and you'll have a little X cursor to make your selection with. Just click and drag a box around what you want to capture. Let go of your click to finish then click save and save your screenshot.

Second the hosting of the screenshot
You'll need to create an account on either photobucket or imageshack - they're both free. On each website, once you've created an account and logged in you should be able to click the upload button to upload your screenshot. Just click upload, select your screenshot and then let it do the upload. After its uploaded you should be able to click on the picture and somewhere on the page it will list the link to your image. What you're looking for is the direct link to you picture. Once you have the link you should literally be able to open a new browser window and type that in and it should take you to basically a blank page with nothing but your picture/screenshot on it.

Third the posting of the screenshot
All you need to do now is post your screnshoot. Take your link that you got from photobucket/imageshack and use the insert/edit image link from the formatting bar at the top. Paste the link here.

    Thats it.
