The Reservation - Seminole Football 2012

    #13 Florida State - 31
    #2 Miami - 26

After losing in pathetic fashion to an Unranked Boston College team, the Florida State Seminoles came in to Miami with a lot to prove.

Prove something they did. The Defense stepped up when it had to and held the vaunted Miami rushing attack to 31 yards on 22 carries. The passing defense bent but did not break and caused 2 timely interceptions.

The much maligned QB Wil Secord again stepped up in a big road game by completing 11 of 15 passes for 191 yards and a touchdown.

Great game by brav. good sim player.

    (UR) Wake Forest - 21

Will Secord blew up in the first half completing 16 of 30 passes for 244 yards and three Touchdowns. The beneficiary of WIl Secord's new found abiklity to throw the ball was WR Rodney Smith. Smith hauled in 12 balls for 141 yards and 4 TDs.

The Running Game was solid as Lonnie Pryor carried 36 times for 156 yards. The defense was effective for all but two or three big plays to end the half. Seriously, a 79 overall running back carried 5 times fo 166 yards...c'mon...

Anywho, outside of those plays, the defense played very well.

Next up is a bye week to prepare for what should be a game that could decide the ACC title against a loaded Virginia Tech squad.

Wil Secord had another solid game in this huge ACC matchup. The running game was adequate as two backs had over 70 yards. With the passing game stepping up, things are looking up for the 'Noles as they trudge through their ACC schedule.

The defense continued to be a takeaway machine forcing a fumble and picking off 4 Hokie passes. Corner CJ alexander again picked off a pass giving him 6 for the season (maybe 5, i cant remember) and putting him in the discussion for DB of the year.

Good Dame, dj. If not for the turnovers this game would have been different as VT was able to runn all over the FSU defense. His Wildcat formation was very effective in the first half while the game was close.

In what should have been an easy victory over Duke, the Florida State defense decided to lay down against a lesser offense.

Tackles broken, 5-7 defenders pancaked within 2 seconds...

Somehow the 'Noles pulled it off and escaped their home field with a 31-24 victory...

Jeremy Ostrander, filling in for an injured Lonnie Pryor ran well. 36 carries for 203 yards and a TD.

QB Wil Secord continued to progress completing 17 balls for 211 yards and tossing 2 TDs.

Next up is another ACC battle with Maryland...pray to God we can tackle their running back with a 96 speed!!!!

    Maryland - 7

Finally, the Seminoles put a complete game together. Without starting tailback Lonnie Pryor for the second straight week, the combination of Jeremy Ostrander and freshman Kevin Vaughn combined for 142 yards on 33 carries.

The story of the game was the coming out party that was staged by embattled starting QB Wil Secord. Secord was 16-21 for 228 yards and 5 touchdowns on the day as the Maryland DBs could not find an answer. 11 of the 16 passes wen to Junior star Rodney smith. Smith totalled 189 yard receiving and 4 of Secords TD strikes.

With the exception of a brilliant 69 yard td run by Maryland's Caleb Porzel in garbage time the Seminole defense held him in check, including holding him to 20 rushing yards in the first half as the 'Noles went into the half up 28-0.

Senior corner AJ Alexander continued his All-American campaign by picking off his 6th ball of the year and taking it to the house in spectacular fashion.

Next week the Seminoles travel north to take on the NC State Wolfpack as they continue to fight their way to the ACC Conference Championship game.

Another solid outing for the Noles. THe Seminoles defense ACTUALLY held a back under 100 yards rushing and Wil Secord was again solid. Jeremy Ostrander, in back up duty, rushed for 150 yards and a TD as well.

Next up, in order, Clemson, Florida, and Penn State.

Coach Vredesbyrd got all he could handle form his former team. Must be something about playing at home, but I cant seem to put together a good game at Doak. All my big wins and user wins have come on the road...Not looking forward to Florida coming to town next week...

Senior Corner AJ Alexander had Two HUGE picks inside the redzone to stunt two long Clemson drives. If Alexander isnt mentioned as ACC defensive player of the year, there is a problem with the voting. He now has 8 INTs on the year, and all have come in critical situations.

Secord was solid as usual, completing 15 of 21 for 154 and a TD. backup runner Jeremy Ostrander finished 104 on 27 carries and a TD.

Florida week is now upon us...for real, I hope I can keep it close. Digital Florida is a beeyotch to play...

    Acc Champs

    Florida State - 33
    Miami - 23

The Florida State Seminoles finally get off the schnide in the ACC title game against Miami. The 'Noles dominated throughout, taking an early 21-3 lead on the strength of 3 Wil Secord passes to Rodney Smith.

Miami was game however, as they ended the half with a pick 6 and got as close as 28-17 with the ball, but a big sack for a safety by senior DT Moses McCray effectively ended the ACC Title hopes of the 'Canes.

Player of the game was Wil Secord who passed for 191 and 4 tds.

Lonnie Pryor added 147 yards rushing and the run defense allowed a paltry 12 yards on 12 carries.

Next up a BCS Bowl game for the 'Noles

Great game Brav. See you in The Rivalry!

F'n computer. The Noles were up 38-16 late in the 4th quarter when the CPU decided to go into Eff You mode, and came back to make it again.

As well. Apparently, I'm a dumbass. QB Will Secord got hurt and in came Ken Holloway. Out of nowhere, Holloway goes 17-20 for 250 and 4 tds. Obviously, Suck-ord has started his last game for the 'Noles...BUT WAIT!?!?! Holloway promptly got hurt on a handoff gone awry and missed the rest of the game. No sooner than that, Secord throws a pick. Next play? Yup, a 73 yard TD strike for BC and the score is 38-31...

ahh well. A win's a win. And beating BC is nice, as they pasted us last year at Doak.

    2-1

Virginia Tech ran all over the field and avenged last seasons defeat at the hands of the Seminoles. The game got within a score late, but the usual FSU QB clutch interception sealed the deal.
