The Seattle Seahawks headed into this season not knowing if it would already be the last season for their vaunted secondary to play together. Cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Patrick Peterson, along with safety Earl Thomas, were all budding superstars entering the final year of their rookie contracts. Analysts around the league predicted that the Seahawks would be able to keep two of the three, in a best case scenario. The analysts were wrong...

The Seahawks made a huge announcement today, when they issued a press release to announce the signing of all three players to contract extensions:

The Seattle Seahawks organization is proud to announce the signing of the following players to contract extensions:

    CB - RICHARD SHERMAN - 6 years $72M

    CB - PATRICK PETERSON - 6 years $75M

    FS - EARL THOMAS - 5 years $30M

The Seahawks are very happy to keep all three of these dynamic young players playing in front of the 12th Man for many years to come.
