As per the definition of "realistic", but as the defense is incapable of defending certain patterns (flys while in press, slants while off the ball), it's the only way to keep things balanced.
So instead of attacking the root of the problem, we just create an artificial constraint? That's not my cup of tea.
So in other words, you believe the program should be realistic to begin with, eliminating any need for useless restrictions?
But it's not designed that way yet, so what do you do in the meantime, just leave the unrealistic version accessible? I look at things like this as a computer virus that can't be removed or fixed by an anti-virus program, it offers the ability to quarantine it. That's what I want in Madden, a way to quarantine my community "fish bowl" from as many unrealistic elements and exploits as possible, until they are fixed or removed. Also, while we are talking about options, I would like player lock and no switch options too. A player lock to make Users select the ONE defender that want to User control without being able to change presnap and a separate no switch option to prevent switching to User control CPU players, after the snap. This would put an emphasis on AI/CPU personnel and play calling by limiting User influence to compensate on the field.
lol. Until they fix it, what is your opinion on what they should do with the "broken" version of it, remove it, allow Users to limit it, leave it like it is or what?
Offensive hot routing. Until they fix it, imo by making the offense having to go through the actual motions of communicating them with the chance of it not working due to crowd noise, player error, etc, do you think they should remove it, allow Users to limit it, leave it like it is or what?
I think fixing it (at least in animations) is just as much investment as creating a limiting system. That said, were you not around when they slowed down no huddle and everyone complained?
For someone that likes his questions answered you sure don't seem to like to answer them. If they can't fix it which of the other ones would you prefer? Slowed down no huddle for which game Madden or NCAA? I have bought every next-gen Madden, like something stupid, so I know I would have been around for it. If Madden, which one was it? I probably would not have noticed since I don't use much no huddle, have played with the Redskins all my NFL gaming life and can't recall a time in the recent past it was an integral part of their or my offensive strategy.
I was talking about NCAA. I didn't answer your question because I think both alternatives are poor decisions, if I had to choose one its 50/50. You either get the continued poor implementation or you get an artificial constraint as a bandaid that wastes development resources. It's shit sandwich vs puke burger.
IMO hot routes should be automatic based off of the coverage anyways. If your receiver has high enough awareness he will recognize the olb coming on his side and automatically run the correct hot route.
That's an interesting point and I wonder how that would go over with those who are all about uber User control. I think having it be a part of the AI for receivers, maybe somehow based on PRC(play recognition) would be great and add another player differential element. If there are plans to add some version of playbook knowledge from HC09 too, that would be even better.
Most people who want user control would have no issue with it. At the end of the day they want realism just as much as everyone else. Playbook (or better yet play familiarity) is probably on the books at some point but it won't be this gen. I think it will come at some point tho. I have already sent emails on it to Looman ( not that it wasn't his baby in HC series anyways). Hopefully he is allowed to put it in at some point in the near future.
