The Cal Bears opened up their 2013 campaign against the Aggies of NMSU. Cal was clearly the dominant team, but the Aggies kept teh game respectable despite getting down ealry 30-7 by halftime. The Bears were able to put up some impressive numbers with their newly installed pro style offense, balancing teh run and passing game. Many questions revolved around rsFR QB Zach Kline, but he lived up to the high expectations since coming into Cal as one of their most prized recruits of all time. Kline finished 18/28 301yds 4TD 1INT. His favorite target was WR Chris Harper who had 7rec 132yds 3TD and Harper even displayed his deadly open field abilities returning a kick off 100yd for another TD. Nagging injuries allowed for the top 3 RB to see carries as they combined for 189yds TD. The defense however wasn't as impressive allowing a mediocre Aggie team to accumulate 382yds of offense and 28 points. Next up for the Bears are the Buckeyes of Ohio State.
The Bears survived a barn burner with the Buckeyes. QB Zach Kline is playing like a SR as he led his team against the highly powered tOSU team. Kline had a signiture game with 25/29 348yds 4TD and no INT. WR Bryce Treggs was the co-star as he was the primary target with Chris Harper leaving teh game early due to injury. Treggs had 11rec 163yds 2TD. Brenden Bigelow carried the load with 121yds TD. QB Braxton Miller was a one man show, with 377 combined yards and 5TD, but without a supporting cast the Buckeyes fall 1 score shy. People are starting to talk, and the Cal Bears may be this years cinderella story....
The Bears squeaked out another victory as once again the Cal offense was forced to outscore their oppenent as teh defense still hasn't figured how to stop anyone. QB Zach Kline once again took control of the game throwing for 368yds 3TD 1INT. The duo of Harper and Treggs at wideout combined for 277yds 2TD. Brendon Bigelow had his second straight 100yd game and ran for 2TD.
It was going to happen eventually. QB Zach Klined played like a freshman as he threw 6 picks and the offense sputtered. The defense gave up 574yds as teh Ducks had their way in all phases of the game. After going down early the Bears became pass happy as tehy got aay from their gameplan. Kline did manage to throw for 426yds 2TD but he will have nightmares of the Ducks secondary after todays game.
Cal bounced back from their embarressing loss with an impressive day on offense as the Bears totaled 519yds. QB Zach Kline threw for big numbers again with 373yds 2TD but he is still turnover prone with 3INTs. Brandon Bigelow had a career day on teh ground with 154yds 2TD to keep the Cougars D honest. Bryce Treggs was Kline's favorite target today with 9rec 153yds TD. Cal's D was able to contain the pass happy offense of the Cougars, recording 5 sacks and causing 3 turnovers.
Cal was able to beat their instate rival in a very close game, but Zach Kline was too much for the Bruins D. Kline was very effecient on the day throwing for 351yds 4TD. Bryce Treggs continues to be a nightmare for DB's with 6rec 176yds 2TD. Brandon Bigelow's 81yds TD on the ground helped balace the Bear attack.

Cal was once again victorious but almost gave this game away. The bears dominated for much of teh game early on, but careless play ad 3 turnovers allowed teh Beavers to stay close. Zach Kline finished the day with 333yds 2TD, but again his 3INT's almost cost Cal teh game. TE Richard Rodgers had a big day with 5rec 143yds TD and Brandon Bigelow cracked teh century mark on the ground also scoring a TD.
Cal is on a roll as they win their 4th Pac 12 game in a row. This game was back and forth the entire game, but Zach Klines school record 462yds 3TD preformance was the difference as Cal would seem to make big play after big play in the air. Treggs and Harper combined for 15 rec 311yds 2TD recieving. The Bears would hold UW to 3-7 on 3rd down conversions and were able to take advantage of teh extra possessions.
Cal's luck ran out and Zach Kline's INT caught up to him. Arizona's D was able to contain the Cal Bears explosive offense as the had their worst output of the season. Arizone took advantage with a ball controlling ground game (Kadeem Carey 121yds) and big plays in the air (Jason allen 314yds). Brandon Bigelow did have a good game on the ground with 120yds, but the turnovers were too much this time.
Cal- 48 OT
This was an exciting game to watch if you like offense as both teams amassed over 500+yds of offense. Zach Kline shattered his own game record with 510yds in the air with 4TD. Kline did throw 3INT's allowing the Trojans to play with teh lead most of the game. But Kline showed up when it counted as he drove his team within FG position without any time outs with less then 30 seconds on teh clock to send the game into OT. In OT Kline hit Kenny Lawler in the endzone for the final score of the game.
Cal's offense picked up were it left off as Zach Kline was playing alot better after building some confidence back from his come from behind win against USC. Then disaster would strike as Kline goes down early in the first half with an abdominal injury. Austin Hinder would fill in and play a great game considering his lack of game experiance finishing with 240yds 3TD and 1INT. The Bears defense seems to be the achilles heel this season as they gave up 438yds to a mediocre Buffalo team.
Zach Kline was definately missed this game as Austin Hinder threw 6 picks. Cal tried to establish a running game to compensate the missing star QB, but Brandon Bigelow was held to 56yds. Hinder was force to throw the ball more than the coaches wanted and the result showed as Cal loses thier season finale to the bitter rivals.
