The Wolf's Lair.. Hey there sports fans.. Welcome to the Wolf's Lair... Here is your out look for the 2009 Season as UNV has a new coach at the helm.. Coach T²Express... OFFENSE - JR Colin Kaepernick looks to take the helm at QB.. Colin is very quick and will be a great fit in to the new "flex" Defense.. SR Brandon Fragger will be a name you will hear all season long. the senior TB looks to be the starter this season and will see plenty of the ball. also look for Luke Lippincott (SR) to split time and help give the Wolfpack a double threat TB system. FB Vai Taua will be used out of the back field as a check down target.. on the outside edges at WR the Wolfpack have a great tandem with 6'3 200 Maurice Patterson(JR) and 6'3 210 Malcolm Sheppard (JR). At TE the massive 6'5 225 Virgal Green will also be one of the offenses targets as the air attack will look to attack with several options. Up front on the Offensive line the wolfpack is big. averaging 300 pounds across the board with RT Alonzo Durham being the smallest at 285. The Alpah males as the front 5 call them selves will be a force for all WAC teams to deal with... DEFENSE - Coach T²Expess's Defense will be the #1 Question in the Wolfpack's Quest to End Bosie States long standing run with the WAC title. The Front Four is much stronger than the LB core so we will have to make it happen up front On the ends Kevin Basped and Chris Slack will look to Contain the outside run and crash hard on passing plays. the DTs Nate Agaiava and Mike Andrews will look to clog the middle against other teams and keep the pressure close on opposing QBs. The Linebackers are the weak link on this team. Deantae Green will be on the left side. with Ryan Coulson in the middle and Units leader James Johnson(So) on the right. the Secondary is pretty run of the mill for the wolfpack with Antoine Thompson and Isaiash Frey taking the Corner spots they will be getting help over the top from FS Jonathan Amaya the defensive captian SS Mike Samples to round out the Defense. SPECIAL TEAMS- Nick Rhodes will look to improve on his punting this year. Hoping to pin oppnents deep in side their 5 yrd lines. and Richard Drake will be the place kicker. Dwanye Sanders and Shane Anderson Will make up the Kick Returners and Trey Sessions will be fielding punts for the Wolfpack. Mike Gallett will be the teams longsnapper. OUTLOOK- Look for the Wolfpack to come out this season will a new look. Coach T²Express describes the offense as a triple threat. Look for a strong ground attack weather it comes in the normal i-form and singleback sets to the triple option attack. The passing game will supplimental for this run first team. "Folks we're goin to pound the rock.. and we going to pound that rock all the way to Boise Idaho and take this conference title away from them." Some Key games for the Wolfpack are Week#1 Vs Notre Dame In South Bend. Week 4 vs Missouri @Home Week 6Vs LATECH Week 9 Hawi'i @Home Week 13 Vs BOISE STATE @ BOSIE The Wolfpack certainly has their work cut out for them. IF the offense can be explosive and the defense can come up with a few stops i feel that NV can have a shot to take the WAC from Boise.. its going to be a long road playing big time schools as ND and Mizzou. This year our focus as a team is to win the WAC. "We'll have plenty of wins to go to bowl... but lets take the WAC and bring it back where it belongs... Reno NEVADA!!" Projection 10-2 Losses to ND MIZZOU and 2009 W.A.C. CHAMPIONS! Good luck to you all who face the WOLFPACK AHWOOOO !!!!!!!!
