This week in the OMFL 10.29.09 The OMFL is up and running and looks to be as strong as ever. Talk about getting up and running within just a few days, thats exactly what this league done. The OMFL is back and looks to keep it's straight play, great games, amazing rivalries, and in depth write ups going from its past of being the oldest Online league that went from a PC league to a PS3 League to keep up with the daily Madden Players. With the start of this new OMFL chapter comes new rivalries, new power houses, and some familiar old faces. New rules, new faces, new systems, but the same excellence and same great games! Week 1 started out with a blast as games started flying in. Chiefs shock the OMFL by pulling the first upset. A new look Chiefs team takes down the Ravens by using their own weapon against them - DEFENSE! Holding the Ravens to 161 total yards. Texans, Vikings, Cowboys, Falcons, and Cards all put up huge points to big victories in week 1 of the OMFL. Week 2 didn't get any better for some teams. Raiders quickly bought the Chiefs back down to reality with a good beat down in week 2, winning by 20. Rams look to be a shocking powerhouse in the OMFL. This old time OMFL'er looks to be taking back his one time OMFL crown won years ago in the PC league. Rams start out 2-0 and don't look to be slowing down any time soon. Browns and Broncos also go down to a OT thriller, first in the OMFL since the restart. Browns running game kept them going while the Defense for both teams were really playing good ball. Broncos pull out a thriller with a 34 yr field goal just a few moments into the game. Sdunlap has produced his first week 3 power rankings: Looking at the top 10 a few surprises show up. Bills, Broncos, and Rams? Talk about owners making the most of their talent. Broncos and Rams? Who the heck have these teams played? 1-7 bengals, browns, redskins, and seahawks, thats who. I'll give Bruce the benefit of the doubt, both of these guys HAVE to be great players, but their talent level will catch up with them if they don't make some moves here soon. Can the old man Farve really carry the Vikings to the big game before his arm falls off? I doubt it, but with Peterson anything is possible. Texans have a great offense and don't look to be slowed down any time soon, but don't defense win championships? Colts, Falcons, Chargers all seem to be the real deal here. Can others knock them off? Of course, this is the OMFL and any thing can happen! Week 3 has some great games coming up. Packer/Rams, Falcons/Pats, Saints/Bills, Panthers/Cowboys, Cards/Colts. Some great games and some great owners. Trades are going nuts and stats are pilling up, but we will give those a few more weeks before we take a look at those leaders. Tune in next week for This Week in the OMFL.
