THL (PS3) Team History

I have a quick question since I am new to this

1. Sunday is Super Bowl so wouldn't be available also the odd time I work an evening shift, question being what happens if I can't make a game?

 

I'll get into the format much more in detail in a little while but basically each week I'm going to post the schedule of games (3-5 per team) and then you'll just need to schedule times with your opponents that you can get the game in. The winner of the game will post the results and stats here and we'll keep track of all that info on the site.

 

I'm in guys. Just bought it and ready for some league fun. Keep me up to speed as to when it will launch.

 

Hoping to get the league board (Shaun Mason, Drifterbub, RynoAid, Emmdotfrisk) set up today and then we'll get started.

I am pumped for this league to start. Hopefully we can get it running this evening and get a few games in.

 

The official THL draft lottery will start at 10:30 PM EST tonight. At the conclusion of the lottery, the draft will start. The lottery will be conducted using a random generator (http://the-hat.soft32.com/) and all 16 teams will have an equal opportunity at the #1 pick.

 

Discuss season 1 things here.

 

League Format:

• 14 teams
• 2 conferences of 7 teams

League Schedule:

• 38 games (4 or 5 games a week for 8 weeks)
• 4 games versus the other 6 teams in your conference (24)
• 2 games versus the other conference (14)

Playoffs:

• 4 teams from each conference
• All series are best of 5 (higher seeds get games 1, 2, and 5 at home)

Before the game:

The home team (indicated by the schedule) will do the following:

• Make sure you are friends on PSN with your opponent
• Go to Online -> Community -> Lobby
• Join any room and then create a session (press square once in the room)
• Game Settings
  • Type: Unranked
  • Mode: Online Versus Play
  • Private Session: Yes
  • Allow Co-op: No
  • Period Length: 5 minutes
  • Rules: NHL
  • Injuries: On
  • Fighting: On
  • Penalties: On
  • Created Plays: Off
• Choose your opponent and select "Invite to Game"

After the game:

The winning team will post stats in the results thread. Here is an template for the stats:

• Final Score
• Shots for each team
• Penalty Minutes for each team
• Power play stats (goals/chances) for each team
• Team Faceoffs Won

• Who scored and assisted on the goals (posted in the order of occurrence). If the goal was a PPG or SHG please mention.
• Goalie W/L (mention shutout if applicable)
• 3 stars of the game

Rules:

This is a SIM-Style league with realistic game play and no cheese. This includes:

• Playing all of your lines. I know that scoring lines play more frequently than checkers but we should not be running into problems where playings on the first line are on the ice for 40 minutes.
• Noticing when a game is out of hand. If you're up by a ton (5+) lay off the pressure, etc.
• Diving/Laying down on the ice is allowed in the following situations only:
  • Block a shot or break up and odd man rush in the defensive zone.
  • Break up/prevent a breakaway.
  • Keeping the puck in at the end of the game while going for the tying goal.
• More information will be added if necessary.

Draft:
When it is your turn to make a selection, post the NHL team of your choice that you will be playing with in this thread.

Then create a new thread in the "Team Pages" board containing information about your team and person contact information (including PSN, AIM if applicable, etc).

 

There won't be. Everything will take place on this site and you will play your games by the home team creating a session and then inviting the opponent. More information will be posted in the rules and regulations thread.
