Oilers started their season off with a bang, getting a big 3-1 (empty netter) win over the Jets... they hit Vancouver next, but lost 3-1 (with an empty netter), Dubnyk gave up a couple weak ones in this one.

back home to face the Devils, the Oilers couldn't get anything going and lost another one, this time 2-1 on a late redirected point shot.

next up was traveling to Toronto, and i think the Oilers left their game on the plane, getting shut out by Reimer and the Leafs by a score of 2-0. Edmonton managed to control most of the play, dominating in shots and time on attack, but just couldn't beat Reimer. Dubnyk gave up two redirected/tipped point shots that made the difference in this one.

last game for the Oilers is visiting the Bell Centre and Ya Dunn Know for a date with the Canadiens.

in their first user vs user game, the Oilers hosted Montreal at Rexall Place and gave their fans a happy ending. the Canadiens ended the first period up 1-0, but the Oilers fought back to tie at 1-1, before Montreal took a 2-1 lead. the Oilers clawed back to tie it at 2-2, before Ryan Nugent-Hopkins knocked in a Taylor Hall shot that ricocheted off David Perron, with 0.5 seconds left in the 3rd to steal the win.

gg Ya Dunn Know... we'll see you Edmonton travels to la belle provence for a date at the Bell Centre.

last night the Oilers played 4 games, first taking on an undefeated (5-0) Washington Capitals squad in Landover. the Caps got out to an early lead, with Ovie scoring on the first shot on Dubnyk. the game was tight throughout, although Washington held a 2-0 lead before the Oilers started their comeback. the Oilers tied it at 2-2 before Washinton scored the go-ahead goal. Edmonton fought back and scored with less than a minute left in the third. they hung on to get at least one point from the Caps and forced overtime. OT solved nothing and the two clubs went to a shootout. Taylor Hall scored on his first chance, and Dubnyk stopped Ovechkin. Eberle flipped a shot past Neuvirth to go up 2-0. a save by Dubnyk on Backstrom would have won the game, but the Swede made good on his attempt. Gagner was turned away on the third Edmonton shot, so it came down to Grabovski vs Dubnyk to extend the shootout, but Dubnyk won the battle and gave Edmonton a big win on the road.

next up, the Oilers traveled to Long Island to face a struggling Islanders team. Edmonton scored early and often, picking up a 6-1 victory to give them a winning record at 4-3, and a 3-game winning streak. Taylor Hall collected 4 apples in this game, while RNH & Gagner each had 3pts. Oilers got 6 goals from 6 different players to spread the wealth.

Edmonton continued north, stopping in Ottawa to face the Senators and Craig Anderson. Anderson was on his game in this one, a 2-1 Senators victory. Edmonton had a hard time getting past the speedy Karlsson and when they did, Anderson turned them away.

returning home after a lengthy road trip, the Oilers struggled in their game against the Washington Capitals. having just faced the Caps, who were still undefeated in regulation, the Caps were out for payback. Washington left Rexall with a 2-1 victory, Edmonton's second straight defeat by a 2-1 score.

Edmonton has games against Phoenix, Fiddy14's Pens, Ya Dunn Know's Habs and Robert Sloop's Kings before the next advance.

the Oilers, in their busiest time of the young season, played another 3 games last night, and pushed their record to 7-5.

a CPU game vs Phoenix was decided early in OT as Taylor Hall broke through the defense and slipped the winner by Mike Smith in the desert.

the Oilers then flew across the country to Montreal, to take on Ya Dunn Know and the Habs. RNH finished off a beautiful tic-tac-toe power play marker to open the scoring. Andrei Markov stepped over the blueline after his teammates cleared the Oiler zone on the delayed offside and wired one over Dubnyk's glove to tie the game at 1-1. that proved to be the last of Montreal's goals and the Nuge took over and completed the hat-trick in the third period. Corey Potter added the 4th goal late as Carey Price had an off night. Oilers also lost two fights on the night and the game by a score of 4-1.

Edmonton boarded their plane and flew back across the country and to the Staples Center for the game against the Kings. Robert Sloop played a hard fought game and Jonathan Quick stood on his head to keep the score respectable. LA got their lone goal from Dustin Brown when he banged in a rebound but Labarbera stood tall and backed the Oilers 3-1 win in LA to give them a 7-5 record.

next up is the showdown between Fiddy14's Penguins and the Oilers.
