Tide quick season recap and preview

Alabama finished with the record i predicted in the season preview. The season in general was a success.

The offense was the most balanced in the nation with 2608 passing yards, and 2593 rushing yards.
HB Jason Mitchell proved to be the key. The two games the tide lost, Mitchell missed at least the last two QRTs due to injury.

Mitchell will return next season as a true JR. The tide will only have 7 srs and 15 jrs. The focus all along in recruiting was to balance the roster by class.

Coach smace has done that for the most part. The tide have a QB in every class and a rb in the bottom 4 classes(no srs). Most of the secondary are fresh and sophs and the starting oline will be all fresh and sophs. By balance the class i mean either i have guys who will start for 2 or more years or i have guys who a ready to play right behind the starters in a younger class. This way no recruit is need to play for a few years and they can learn the system and when they play they will be ready.

Depth at wr and the saftey positions are concerns as well as the one position that is not as balanced by class which is DE. I do return 2 good DEs but they will be SRs. I got lucky and signed a 4*DE who was a new pop up recruit in week one offseason to help this out. I see a DT i want but i dont think i can get him if im not here.

I'd say it was a good bounce back year for you and the Tide, especially after you missed a good portion of season 2. I continue to regret passing on Mitchell during season 1. I was trying to get Richard(Notre Dame) so bad that I paid little attention to Mitchell, who I prolly had in the bag if I would have just put more effor tinto signing him. And as for your recruiting strategy, it sounds like you got 1 hell of a team comin up down the road here.

Funny thing is, Richard has been relegated to a KR and PR specialist, and doesn't have a shot at serious playing (barring injuries) until he's a junior or senior. Just depends after Gray graduates next year if I'll go with him or Wood, both have had fumbling issues which is why I swayed Gray to stay another year.
