lol u yanks are obsessed with stats forget numbers when it comes down to it u cant compare romo with brady brees etc in the end game its embarrassing to do so
Romo is on the 2nd tier in the QB convo. The way I see it is that he is not top of the line but he is far from a generic brand.
romo is easy the 5th best qb, but since he plays in dallas he will get hated on.. That i know for fact.
Top QB's in the NFL in no particular order above Romo 1) Brady 2) Rodgers 3) P. Manning 4) Brees 5) Rivers 6) Ryan 7) Stafford (When healthy) 8) Roethlisberger 9) E. Manning I would slate Romo as number 10 in the NFL right now, and that is not including any of the rookies because both Cam and Andy Dalton have shown to be good QB's and Cam maybe better than Romo over the course of his career.
Absolutely not, I would take Matt Ryan and Rivers but most of all Ben Roethlisberger and Eli over Romo anyday. Eli has shown when the games on the line he can deliver and that includes the big games. i.e. Super Bowl vs. Patriots, game against Green Bay. Ryan has also shown he is a clutch player, and Rivers has shown to be deserving of a top NFL QB monicker and definitely would put up Romo. I may let him slip past Stafford since he is so injury prone, but Big Ben has gone out and won 2 Super Bowls and coming from a Pats fan I will definitely say is a top 5 QB I would put Roethlisberger 5, E. Manning 6, Rivers 7, Ryan 8, Romo 9.
all rivers does is throw high passes for his 6'5 WR put him elsewhere and actually have him put it on a spot routinely i don't think he would excel. hell i just compared him to all 5 using nfl head to head comparison and i would still say he is better. Stafford is a better number yr beiseds qbr and comp %, but he has also thrown it over hundred more passes than Romo
Romo has beaten a red hot eagles team twice one to win the division title and than rd 1 in the playoffs. he's the only qb in cowboy history to beat GB in GB. He beat the Saints the same year when everybody was saying saints were a better team and said the boys had no shot. there is plenty more big games, but just because the 4 letter network says he can't doesn't make it true..
it's funny nobody gives rivers as much flak as they give romo when he's done basically nothing except win a crappy division every year which he can't even do that anymore. but he's top 5 material..
I actually didn't put Rivers in the top 5 if you read it correctly, and as for Rivers he usually does play well and didn't nearly have the talent around him that Romo does, yet Romo can't seem to put it together, what is it, 1 playoff win since Jimmy Johnson..........Doesn't speak a lot about Romo or the Cowboys in general.
that one playoff win was romo and i would say rivers has has the same amount of talent as romo..if not more.. V jax, chamberlin, gates, floyd TO Witten. Williams sucked donkey balls the whole time crayton as a #2 was another bogus spot. Rivers had Tomlinson with backups sporles and turner while romo's best rb has always been the back up until this yr when it was the 3rd string. this is the 1st legitimate year where the cowboys had a good 1-2-3 wr at even thats been iffy with injuries.
Well feel free to bring up some discussions of your own, on the news of today's front Braylon Edwards was cut by the 49ers. Many are speculating that T.O. might get a look by SF if for nothing else than just to have defenses respect the passing game still and keep the heat off Crabtree, but there also wondering if Harbaugh would let T.O. into the locker room, because Kyle Williams and Ted Ginn don't really strike fear in people. Honestly we all know what the 49ers are, and that is a run the ball, play action team so I say stick with what you got, but T.O. is a good receiver and showed he still had it with last year's performance. Surprised no one gave him a look this year but maybe SF will but I doubt it.
Very true, Edwards did see to have a chip on his shoulder in New York and in San Fran, after he wasn't the go to guy anymore he seemed to slack off a lot more. If I hear of any information with regards to the 49ers or the NFL in general I will post it up, some of it could just be rumor mill stuff but some of it will be done up before the big networks run it on their shows, I have a few "sources" as they say involved in the NFL so I usually hear stuff before hand so I'll try to get it up as quick as I can.
According to what I heard today, San Francisco has no thoughts of bringing in another WR at the current time, Ted Ginn and Kyle Williams will get the other playing time. However, with Walker's injury at TE, they are looking for another TE to possibly bring in but may also bring up one from the practice squad as SF likes to use the H-back factor or the two TE look. Rosenhaus has been in contact with San Fran about the services of T.O. however, San Fran has said it is too late in the year to bring in someone else and Harbaugh when asked about T.O. wasn't completely against him but the Braylon experiment really didn't help with the thought of a veteran WR as of right now.
My turn.... Romo is a very good QB, but his inconsistency and his inability to win late in the year and win playoff games has prevented him from being a top tier QB, so far. You cannot even consider putting him over players like Eli and Rapelisberger. They have won a championship. Romo is Brett Favre 2.0. They are both gunslingers at heart. They will win some games and make some plays that no other QB can make, but they will also throw the game away from time to time. Favre is a hall of famer, a legend, but he only won 1 SB in all those years. Im hoping Romo can win one as well, but it won't be this year. Now I am a die hard Cowboys fan, have been since I was little. Ive only missed a few games in the last 7 years or so. But I said before the season started that the Cowboys were not ready to be a champion due to the defense. Last season that defense was the worst defense in Cowboys history. Now what did they do to in the offseason to correct this? Nothing, besides bringing in Rob Ryan. One man on the sidelines can only do so much for a defense. Both Dallas safeties suck, they get beat deep. Newman is old, Jenkins is not what we though he was (not worth a 1st round pick). Bradie James and Brooking are old as dirt and slow. The only playmakers on that defense is Ware, Sean Lee, and Ratliff. The DB's are terrible. Even Spencer has been somewhat of a bust. They did nothing in the draft to help the defense, and they sat on their ass in FA and brought no one in. Until this defense gets better, the Cowboys will not be a championship caliber team. But they better hurry up as Ware and Romo are getting older and older. They have a few more years to get it done. I personally love Romo though. He has heart and he's as tough as it comes. And that's all I have to say about that. Oh, also I hate Teblow. I think he sucks. And Im tired of hearing about him.
Penn State had stated as reported on ESPN they wanted Munchak for the Penn State job, but he has declined, and even tho most people always decline publicly while they have another job. This actually is genuine, Munchak is happy with his job in Tennessee and next year for the Titans Locker is going to be the starter and there looking to retool the offensive line to help Chris Johnson's running game, as well as mixing in Javon Ringer a little bit more. As for the Penn State job, Tom Bradley their current interm coach is listed as the number 3 person on their list but appears that he might be move than likely the person who will take the job, Bradley is already looking for his coaching staff and Paterno's son who is the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator there is about a 50-50 chance he will be back as with the health issues of his dad Jay Paterno may step away to help with the health problems of his dad. Some of the rumored names are to bring back LaVar Arrington as the LB coach, and Bradley may reach out to other former Penn State Alumni, but it does not include current WR coach who is placed on leave after the death threats made towards him. Penn State is looking to distance itself as far from Sandusky and this whole mess as possible and move on. Any other details regarding this or anything else with the NFL or college football I will definitely post up. It just depends on when I hear from my buddies.
