It was a Defensive battle at best! The JJ Watt show was on full force. Even though he didnt have any sacks, he was a force on the field. He put a lot of pressure on the Titans QB Zach Mettenberger. This game had a lot of hype with some bad blood. Rookie Linebacker Jadeveon Clowney got his 1st interception of his career. That stuck in Mettenbergers mind as leading up to the game Clowney was talking smack.

The biggest surprise of the game would be newly acquired Halfback Dennis Johnson. Who was signed as a free agent just the week before to fill in for the injured Rookie Bishop Sankey. Mettenberger would read man coverage and audible to run opposite the blitz that the Texans were bringing. Johnson would then break one take and take it to the house on a 47 yard run.

The Texans would answer back putting 3 on the board at the end of the 1st quarter.

Next possesion for Ttians would be ugly to say the least. On a play action pass on 2nd down, the Texans would be bringing the heat and would take Mettenberger down for the sack, a loss of 7 on the play. Then on 3rd down the Titans stretch out with 5 wide outs. But, all that smack talk that Clowney was laying down during the week would pay off. Clowney would beat left tackle Michael Roos, and he would force a fumble on Mettenberger that would roll to 5 yard line where Defensive Tackle Devin Still would scoop it up and run it in for the score.

Titans would then go a 3 and out, as Mettenberger looked shaky not having the control he normally does. Titans would punt and Rookie Tom Savage would march down the field, picking the defense apart. But, not so fast my friend he would look to the endzone strong safety Damion Stafford. The Titans defense again would hold.

Titans would again look good on offense as Mettenberger would settle down and complete several first downs, and just when things looked good. Texans Linebacker Brian Cushing comes out of no where and snatches the ball out of the air, and return it 35 yards. That would set up a couple of plays and Texans would add 3 more pts on a 53 yard field goal by Rookie Kicker Chris Boswell as time expired in the half.
    Texans on top 13-7.

After half the Texans would receive.

Texans would gain 9 yards on the first 2 plays, but on 3rd and 1. Tom Savage would be picked off yet again by strong safety Stafford who would take it to the house. And the Titans would go back on top 14-13.

That would be enough to help the Titans get the win. As Savage would be picked off 2 more times, and Texans defense, as well as Titans defense would not allow either offense to get going again.

The win gives the Titans a sweep over the division foes.
    Each game gets harder.

    Great Game dakota7

Next season will be tough when you use those picks in the 1st 2 rounds.
