Indianapolis, IN -- The Tennessee Titans entered this game with Kirk Cousins under center in place of the injured Geno Smith. While he may not light up the stat sheet, or pull off dazzling runs such as Smith, Kirk Cousins can be a legitimate game manager in this league. With that said, it was rookie RB LeNerick Good who stole the show in this game. Back for his first game since his week 1 injury, Good would put on a show and ball out. On their opening drive, Good amassed over 50 yards rushing and was stopped just short of the goal line on one of his big runs. One play later Cousins would find FB Chris Pressley in the flats for his only passing TD of the game. After a great looking opening drive (which actually opened the game) by the Colts, the Titans D would clamp down just outside of the goal line and hold the Colts to a field goal. From there it was all hard nosed Titan defense and a dash of LeNerick Good. The Titans held the Colts run game in check all afternoon after that opening drive, and they knew that would be a benefactor in getting a W. They also wanted to focus on taking TE Coby Fleener out of the game, as much as possible. They would do a decent job there as well, as Fleener only hauled in 3 passes for 55 yards. The only other Colts points would come as the clock was ticking down in the first half. They had it first and goal, down 14-3, and all timeouts. This would turn out to be a pivotal stand by the Titan defense. They would force the Colts to burn all timeouts and kept them out of the endzone. The Colts would get a field goal out of the deal to make it 14-6 at the half. The Titans would add 3 field goals in the second half to make the final score 23-6. It just wasn't the day for the Colts, and it was summed up at the very end. With another first and goal opportunity with under a minute to play, and all timeouts, the Titans D would again keep them out of the endzone. On the final play, Luck would find Fleener at the goal line, but LB Zach Brown would stuff him where he stood at the 1 yard line. Titans ball, game over. Key Stats of the Game: 1) Tennessee rushed the ball for 180 yards, while holding the Colts to only 87 on the ground. 2) The Colts were held to only 16% on third down conversions. 3) The Titans came into the game with a league leading 14 ppg allowed on defense. They only gave up 6. Player of the Game: TEN - RB LeNerick Good = 18 carries, 118 yards, 1 TD GG thafuture3886 ... Good luck the rest of the way!
