Week 1 Reflection
HOU @ TEN
It's hard to look back at a win and nit pick yourself, or your team. But we all know, win or lose, the game was never played out perfectly and worked the exact way you wanted to. This week the Houston Texans came into our stadium and tried to show us that we are not quite ready to be a factor in the division. We all know what Houston possesses, they possess a great defense lead by JJ Watt and the offense, although lacking week 1, can be a threat with Foster, Big Ben and Andre Johnson. So with that said, the Titans knew they were in for a good game and finished out on top 37-17.
Analysis: This week the Titans strengths on offense came in the form of putting the ball on the ground and running. Chris Johnson had a good game with a highlighted 78 yard TD run. Defensively, it was the rush defense that stepped up and played big and got Houston to shy away from it as Titans were gaining lead. This lead to more passes, in which lead to more interceptions. One of which turned into a pick six. The d-line lead by Kamerion Wimbley were in Big Bens face all night.
Now for the bad, even though we were facing a strong defense, we still gave up 272 yards passing. Andre Johnson could have made it a lot more if he could have found the sideline on a jumping catch down the sideline. That's not even the worse part, our linebacker coverage was awful this game. We let TE Owen Daniels have all the room in the world as he racked up 7 receptions and lead the team in both yards and receptions. Daniels saw too much open space and our linebackers need to work on better coverage to stop that.
