Both teams needed this game to stay in the playoff hunt. Texans came in looking to exact some revenge on the Titans after a tough home loss to them. They came out angry and methodically drove down the field on a long 10+ play drive to only come up short and have to setting for a FG. The Titans would answer with their own long drive with some key 3rd down conversions and a roughing the passer penalty to keep a 10+ play drive alive which was finished off with a Chris Johnson 6 yd TD run. The Titans would put 3 more points on the board to take a 10-3 lead at half. Tennessee came out with a opening drive and were quickly 3 and outed but would get a reprieve with a Texans interception that would give them the ball back and they would convert the turnover into a 5 yd TD run up the gut by Javon Ringer to take a 17-3 lead. The Texans would only be able to muster 6 more points in the game with the most telling stat being the 3 for 8 on 3rd down conversions. This was a big win for Tennessee keeping them in the hunt for a playoff spot and making the Texans road to get there nearly impossible without out some help these last 3 games. GG Dave Always a great battle.
